  • "nice device, small , fair battery life, good speed"
    on by BelloSoft

Pros for the price , I bought it for $120 US
speed , looks like fast device
    maps was fairly up-to-date
route calculation , 20 routs and fast enough to take me to another route before I travel a 0.5 mile
    light weight
    accurate in locating when moving

Cons takes some time to start the application
needs some time ( around 5 +- min) to catch the sattelite connection for the first time
as a computer specialist , I wish if the options are available in different places and in deferent form

Summary if you can have it less than $150 US , it is nice
if you hate small screens , don't take it.
for me ! it is what I need

  • "Has the right price, right size to travel nationwide"
    on by us8181

Pros the size, it fits in my shirt pocket and the proce

Cons does not cover Mexico and cant get software update. If ane one knows how to get Map and software updates, let me know.

Summary it has all what you need and not any more, it worked so far in over thirty states. i wish i can get map update and can add other countries.

  • "Amazing navigation"
    on by cantrellnken

    Pros Accurate naviagtion

Cons Slow start up and poor battery life

Summary I just finished a 6 state road trip from southern California to Montana. It had accurate locations of highway, side roads, gravel and even 2 unmaintained roads across very desolate landscapes. Never once did we end up off the map or was told incorrect data and we arrived at our destinations without any missed turns. I cannot say so much about my old in dash pioneer AVIC at a tenth of the price. The screen is too hard to see from a line of sight stand unless you own a Jeep Wrangler so you are safest with a co-pilot or trust the voice commands without seeing the display. The database for points of interest is marginal at best - it couldn't locate Starbucks but had gas stations, fast food and atms which were suprisingly accurate. If POI software is available, this would be the all in one package. I haven't tried the MP3 feature. The battery life is terrible lasting only a few hours.

  • "CNet reviewer far too harsh"
    on by DBCampbell

Pros excellent mapping and multimedia capabilities, portability, battery life

Cons could really use side-mounted volume control

Summary This device is incredible for it's size and portability factor. I'm not sure why the CNet reviewer was so critical of it's speed, as the only places I feel I am waiting is on the initial load of the Nav application, but when using it as a nav device, you only need to load it once. MP3 player can be used simultaneous with Nav, so application load time will only be a factor if frequently switching into the video player or picture viewer apps and then back to nav mode. Address entry is a bit sluggish if entering street first, but entering city name first makes street name selection slick and simple. The reviewer also dissed it's small size for vehicle use, but I find the compact size to be an advantage over larger units that block windshield visibility or block access to dash instruments. It is quite simple to find an unobtrusive place on your dash for this sweet machine. It is an integral part of the instrument panel on my new Smart car.

  • "Would not travel without it"
    on by riechers

Pros Small, easy to carry on airplane

Cons Battery life - only 5 hours

Summary I would not travel without it. I throw it in my briefcase and do not even notice it. Stick it to the dash of the rental car before I even leave the lot. It is my right hand and has never failed me. I do not use the multimedia features so canot speak to them. It gets me where I need to, on foot or in a car.
