Summary: The programming on the new prestige models are disappointing. The units do not calculate well. The Nuvi 3490LMT as well as the Nuvi 3590LMT are flawed. They often routed me to out of the way routes longer than my Nuvi 3790LMT. the unit tried rerouting me several times and the traffic symbol was still GREEN! There is a new stretch of highway where I live that the new map does not cover. Both the Nuvi 3490 & 3590 LMT tried rerouting me 3 1/2 miles out of the way & would not even recognize my street, even when I was stopped at a light. I recorded it with my phone. I called Garmin a couple times. No resolution . The programming of the units ruin a otherwise good unit. The decision to eliminate " recalculating" voice is a mistake because if you make a wrong turn or miss a turn, you may not recognize it right away! I depend on my GPS when I travel for work and do not know if I can trust the unit. Have owned several Garmin Nuvi GPS and am shocked at the direction the company is headed!
