Manufacturer description

Go from North America to Europe without loading more maps with the transatlantic nüvi 370. This pocket-sized Personal Travel Assistant comes with built-in street maps for both continents, making traveling abroad so easy. Similar to the 360, nüvi 370 also includes a travel kit and hands-free calling then takes it to the next level with more maps and an integrated traffic receiver. nüvi 370 comes ready to go right out of the box with preloaded City Navigator NT street maps for both North America and Europe, including a hefty points of interest (POIs) database with hotels, restaurants, fuel, ATMs and more. Simply touch the color sunlight-readable screen to enter a destination, and nüvi takes you there with 2D or 3D maps and turn-by-turn voice directions. It even announces the name of exits and streets so you never have to take your eyes off the road. In addition, nüvi 370 accepts custom POIs, such as school zones and safety cameras, and lets you set proximity alerts to warn you of upcoming POIs. It also supports configurable vehicle icons - fun, customized car-shaped icons in a variety of colors that show your position on the map. Talk about worry-free driving. nüvi 370 integrates Bluetooth wireless technology with a built-in microphone and speaker, so you can pair it with your compatible Bluetooth phone. Then talk hands-free through the 370 while staying focused on the road. Simply dial numbers with nüvi's touchscreen keypad to make a call. To answer calls, just tap nüvi's screen and speak directly into its built-in microphone. You can also easily look up and dial numbers from your personalized phone book or from your phone's call history log. With 1-touch dialing for points of interest (POIs), you can conveniently call ahead for reservations or information. Steer clear of traffic with nüvi 370's integrated FM TMC traffic receiver. Receive alerts about traffic tie-ups and road construction that lie ahead on your route. Then simply touch nuvi's screen to view traffic details or detour around the problem area.

I hate this GPS unit

Pros: Many POI, bluetooth works great

Cons: Super slow finding satellites. running on battery and need to hook the charger up? It will reboot the GPS not too handy when needing direction especially considering the slow hook-up time.

Review: If you want to hook up and go, dont

Works as advertised. Cost to get current maps $129.95!!

Pros: It seems to be a fine unit with quite a few features for the price. I bought it because it has both US and European maps built in.

Cons: When I went to register with Garmin I was told that there were new maps for both US and Europe, but that they would only give me one of the newer maps. The other would cost $129.95. It seems that the 370 should COME WITH the MOST UP-TO-DATE maps.

poorly made

Pros: light weight

Cons: expensive, not a QWERTY keyboard, if you type A you might get a B, will have you exit a freeway only to get back on(never could figur that one out) poor support

Review: when putting the 370 on the windshield the first time i noticed the unit flexed a few millimeters. this worried me because i know how fragile the screens are. i contacted garmin and was assured this was normal and not a design flaw. in just a few months of normal use the screen cracked. garmin requested pictures of the damaged unit which was in perfect condition except for the cracked screen. from these pictures they determined i must have abused it and refused to cover it under warranty.

Spectacular Design and Excellent Performance

Pros: Design, Features, Performance, Bluetooth and Traffic

Cons: Volume could be louder, multi-destination routing would be great

Review: After extensive research on this and other sites, AND after going to several stores to try out (hands-on) the various GPS units available, I went with the Nuvi 370. I needed Bluetooth and good routing performance, and I was intrigued by the traffic feature. What I got was fine performance on the first two, and the traffic feature seems to be quite accurate in my area (St. Louis, MO). On a longer trip on the first day that I had it, it indicated EXACTLY where a traffic tie-up was located, and fortunately, it was gone quickly. On another shorter trip, the routing went a different way than I usually go, and I tried it out and forgot that I had a setting in for "shortest" distance rather than "fastest" time, and it took me a bizzare route. But it seemed to me to be the settings more than the unit fouling up. I drive extensively for work, and many friends encouraged me to get one of these. I'm very glad that I did! I may very well continue the traffic service (free for the first three months, then $60/year thereafter) - I'll see how it does in other situations.
My only negatives are:
-The volume on its loudest setting still can get drowned out by my stereo;
-You can only add one waypoint to any given trip, rather than several (ideal for real estate agents or travelers like myself);
-Having to hide it after I get somewhere (though it's so small that's really not such a big deal-just remember to wipe off the suction cup marks from your windshield).

Overall, I am quite pleased with my Nuvi 370 and would recommend it to anyone who asked. Nice job, Garmin!

Great value for the price

Pros: garmin quality, US & Europe maps, small size

Cons: occasional errant routing

Review: I have owned several GPS units, most recently the nuvi 660. I bought this one ($450 at Costco) because of the US & Europe maps and the smaller size. This is a very good unit for traveling. Great thin size. So far so good.
