Garmin nüvi 755T GPS Receiver

Summary: This is not my first GPS. I've had the 755t about a week now and put about 400 miles on it. So far no problems. Like all GPS devices it can be a bit funny about getting it to find your destination. I do wish Garmin would setup an option to entry just the zip code instead of city and state. I also wish one could do state entry with just the two characher Post Office abbreviation. Like my last Garmin it is a solid perfomer and the traffic info has been every bit as accurate as anything I can get off the FM radio or XM radio (meaning it is not 100% but is still very useful). I was concerned about the advertising on the screen but the ads are small, unobtrusive and infrequent. Don't let the ads sway your decision on this unit. The colors on the dispay are high contrast and insure one can read the screen at a glance. Keep in mind that those same high contrast color choices can make the screen appear somewhat cartoon like. The corner display lane assist feature has popped up a few times and been a great assist when it appears. Centered in Philadelphia I have yet to see "reality view" lane assist display. The lane assist display in the upper left corner yeah, the main screen lane assist display negative. The 3D building display when in the city is pretty much fluff in my opinion. The maps on the unit have been as accurate as any unit I've ever used. The power cable being connected to the cradle instead of the GPS unit allows one to quickly removed the unit from the cradle without needing to fiddle with the power cord. There are parts of the city one should not leave an expensive GPS unit in plain sight! The screen display is most interesting. As one is driving it will zoom in, zoom out, toss in the traffic overlay, take traffic overlay back out and sort of screw the screen around during sharply turning maneuvers. In the first week I only caught it delay for a few seconds redrawing the screen twice. Garmin units are, my opinion, on the more expensive side of portable GPS, nevertheless, one only gets what one pays for.
