"Relatively Bullet Proof. Small and easily Carried."
Pros: The lithium battery, Easily carried in a shirt pocket. Bright screen as long as you have it connected to a power source.
Cons: The unit does not announce turns far enough in advance to be usable when city driving. When highway driving the unit announces turns far enough in advance to be usable. The screen is nearly unusable if it is not plugged into a power source.
Summary: I have owned the Quest2 for two years and except for the data base being less than updated I like the unit. Once you learn to live with its foibles you can work around them fairly easily. I turn the unit on before I leave the house and select my first destination. By the time I pop it into the car it is up and running and it takes thirty seconds to capture the satellites needed.
The data base seems to be 10 years old in my area. Minnesota. Even with the newest updates. It is slow to recalculate when moving. It takes about 2-3 minutes to recalculate when stopped. I don't think that the Quest2 is being produced any longer.
I have dropped it, kicked it (by accident) and carried it hiking and it has done the job well. It is not perfect but I recommend it.
