    Pros: Clear voice

Cons: It keeps telling you to keep left and turn right.

Summary: This product is a waste of $1000 dollars. It has soooo many flaws that I couldn't believe this thing is worth my money. Here are some of the errors.

    1. Keep left in 1km, turn right in 500 ft?
    2. Keep left when I was in the 4 lanes and turn right in 2 seconds. ?
    3. Signal is gone in downtown
    4. Keep right next ahead. It doesn't always tell you turn right. So keep right.
    5. It tells you arrive on right. When the building is on left.
    6. So expensive. I just wasted $1177 dollars.
    7. Doesn't have Postal Code/Zip code
    8. Slow at informing turn left or turn right.

Mr. Chan may have encountered some frustration but his grade is clearly punitive for a remarkably useful and functional navigation aid.<br>After a year of use I can confirm occasionally amusing pronunciations but, unless Peter is blind (and driving??), street names and other information are boldly displayed and discernable with a mere glance at the screen, so the robotic accent is hardly a major concern.<br>Another complaint alleged against this unit concerns satellite reception. I've experienced a bell curve of boot up times, from unacceptably slow (sometimes) through being triangulated by the time I enter a destination (most of the time). Rarely, the map screen will freeze enroute for a couple of seconds, quickly resuming function.<br>A significant plus is the ability to program multiple destinations and exclude certain routes. Also, the display is clearly readable in all lighting conditions.<br>My most frequent annoyance is absence of total distance remaining as an option on the map screen (instead of current time, say). That information is a couple of clicks down on the turn page. My next petty grievance is the lack of a locking feature for the power cord on the back of the unit. It sometimes slides out of contact if the cord gets pulled. An associated wish would be for an integrated rechargable battery so the unit would continue to run when ignitions are switched off (not all accessory outlets remain hot).

Why is it that every negative opinion is from someone who never thought to return the product? This opinion is a waste because anyone with a bit of common sense would either return the product to the retailer, or Garmin under the warranty! It seems we have to judge products based on editors' opinions or weed out the phony users.

I saw some of the comments about the Garmin 2720 and don't agree with them. Yes this GPS has a few flaws but I can count them on one hand. It is a far improvement from its previous series that garmin sold. It is a solid product. It is faster in updating when you mess up and its a lot easier to find addresses.

The 2720 since upgrading the software to 2.9 puts all the other auto GPS units to shame. It has performed very accurately and consistantly gets me to the location. I sometimes if it is correct and occasionaly heve someone watch a map. It is 99.9% correct. Try upgrading the software.

Wrong driving directions (opposite turns) and incorrect or missing addresses. What a waste of money.
