Garmin StreetPilot c530

CNET Editors' Take

January 24, 2007 4:39 AM PST

The Garmin StreetPilot c530 offers all the navigation basics for a fairly reasonable price.

The Garmin StreetPilot c530 is the step-down model to the Garmin StreetPilot c550 and is a decent system for those looking for a no-frills portable navigation device. Unlike the full-featured c550, the c530 does not have integrated Bluetooth or a built-in MP3 player. It does offer all the 2D and 3D maps that the c550 has, as well as text- and voice-guided directions and automatic route recalculation, and it comes preloaded with maps of North America. You also have the option of purchasing an FM TMC traffic receiver to get real-time traffic updates. The Garmin StreetPilot c530 is available now for around $535. For more information about the c530, please read our review of the Garmin StreetPilot c550.
