"Not very helpful"on by lbear81
Pros easy to use
Cons The traffic feature is not helpful because their route lines cover the traffic conditions. It has sent me the wrong way a couple of times. Do not get this if you want to be able to look at traffic.
Summary I got this for under $100 and I'm probably going to take it back. I live in LA and I want to know the fastest way to get home. It doesn't help to have three different routes that all have inaccurate travel times. It also has a hard time finding easy intersections.
Pros Upgrading from a hiker's 20m GPS without maps, this was fun to play with at first.
Cons The user interface is clumsy. The traffic warnings are always invalid. Choosing alternate routes is difficult. By the way, this is not a GPS receiver, it interfaces with the cell networks.
Summary Buy something else. Not only does this unit not work well, there are subscription charges to keep it working.
Pros With the google search you can get the phone number of a business and call for directions; which you'll need when you find that the unit is wrong.
Cons Takes you miles from where you need to be. Uses very inconvenient routes every time.
Summary I bought this for $150 in January on sale and it wasn't worth $50 to me. If you use search to find places it will take you miles away from your destination. Case in point, go to hometown buffet near Sunset Hills, MO. You will end up 2 miles west. Another time I was at Fashion Bug in Fenton, MO, I told it to take me to Lowe's. Lowe's was just across the street and the unit told me to drive away from Lowe's over to the highway and down it to the exit up the hill and into Lowe's. About a 1000ft drive turns into 3 miles.
Also, you will have to fight with BestBuy's Geek Squad to update your map. They give you a bunch of additude and tell you it's not their job even though the web site and the manual with this unit say that it can ONLY be updated by Geek Squad. Long story short DO NOT BUY THIS unless you must have a mobile google search!!!! And google search is pretty simple with most cell phones these days so just don't buy this.
