Intermitent lock-ups then dead after a year and a half.

Pros: Worked ok when working.

Cons: Locked up sometime while in use.

Review: One year warrenty is not enough. This unit never got wet and was never dropped. Stopped working after a year and a half.

Accurate entry level system

Pros: accurate and low price model. Waterproof is big plus.

Cons: no connection to PC for downlaoads

Review: This is a good entry level system. It is waterproof, accidentally found out and this is very important. Data entry is slow and manual but what do you expect for about $100. Bought it at Walmart for $108 and the maps were worth the upgrade from the 100.

I have taken it to 2 different benchmarks and they were both within 4 feet which is much better than some of the more expensive and less waterproof models.

good hunting.

First Time GPS Owner Disappointed

Pros: Form factor, Ease of Use, Features

Cons: Background Map Unreliable

Review: Overall the product seems to be a good value - features to cost. However, I was very disappointed to find out after inquiring with technical support about a problem that I had that the map data could be 10+ years old and major errors were "absolutely normal". There is a 5 mile stretch of interstate highway in downtown St. Paul that was grossly in error. If you are looking for a reliable major highways background map - I wouldn't get this product. I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade or switch to another vendor.

Simplistic yet very usable

Pros: Very easy to use, see, and many features

Cons: no max speed or average speed

Review: This is my third GPS My wife had bought it for me for fathers day. I was about to return it, but after reading the specs I thought it would do.

I programmed our trip in with a few way points, and it did awsome. It was really great in the LA area down by the beach and down town. I loved the ete and eta features.
For hicking and in a car it can keep most people from getting lost.

My older eTrex did not have any of the roads and no waas. It was not as accurate, but it did give me my Max speed and average. This is a huge advantage with checking your speed for Streetluge racing, and other racing. It does bite that the eXplorist 200 doesn't have that feature.

But overall for the price its a great GPS, for all you geocachers it would work great, I did use it for hiking to and it did a little better then my eTrex.

Great intro GPS

Pros: Easy to use, easy to see, most features needed for an intro level GPS

Cons: Reception not always great in downtown areas, maps in my area (MN) not always precise

Excellent choice for first-time mapping gps!

Pros: Has background map of north america with major streets, highways, parks, waterways, and airports. Indispensable in major cities you dfdon't know. Pretty good accuracy (30-90 ft). Good for geocaching because of easy coordinate entry.

Cons: No cable to connect to a computer. Trouble getting sattelites in big cities. Waterway colors are too light and very hard to see.
