  • "Returned after 3 days and bought a Garmin"
    on by daverey

    Pros Natural voice, clear directions.

Cons Slow processor, unstable mounting bracket, bulky.

Summary I kept this thing for 3 days and returned it. My first problem was not being able to locate the destination for my planned trip. It failed the first test.

The mount is poorly designed and the unit vibrates on the end of it, so much so that it's hard to read the screen.

Initial route processing took a long time. On a 400 mile trip from Louisiana to Texas, it took nearly a minute. And when I tried to see the route turn by turn it only showed the first 3. It was either frozen or still processing. And trying to scroll the map to browse an area other than where you are is nearly impossible.

Once on the road, however, the directions were clear and accurate.

I bought the Garmin c330 and it is much better in every way. The same 400 mile route took about 10 seconds, and you could scroll through every turn.

  • "Great Mid level GPS"
    on by mrgadget

Pros Ease Of SetUp and Use, Touch screen panel, Preloaded maps, Big Display, Customizable for 3 users, Excellent Accuracy, Selects / Deselect POI types

Cons Cannot import address and POI from computer, A liitle bit bulky for small cars / suv's, Froze one time on me, Missed a freeway exit on the first day of usage

Summary Bought the Road mate from COSTCO yesterday for 499$. Product was sold out at most costco's. Setting this one was a breeze, i was able to set this up in < than 5 minutes at the costco parking lot and i was on my way.
On my trip from Orange County to Ventura county on a really heavy day, it did indeed showed me that i was driving on a park instead of a freeway for 1 minute???? I was asked to take the next exit and get back into the freeway. Ignored it and it quicky came back to senses in 2-3 minutes.
On the way back i was disappointed with the fact the the GPS blew it on the I 5 to Route 91 connector ramp. It outright missed the RAMP. It asked me to go a further 4 miles to get to the ramp when i was on the ramp.
I will try this for a couple more days before i decide weather to keep it or not.

  • "Only One Problem"
    on by Jaydog1971

Pros Very well designed, easy to install and use

Cons Difficulty finding most places, poor maps

Summary Get a Garmin, I bought one of these and was thoroughly disappointed, the box promised the world, but delivered an island. Extremely poor customer service, you can only talk to people in India. Buyer Beware- this item is a scam.

  • "Great unit, one major problem with mine"
    on by ronaldccooper

Pros It has a great display, very good voice instructions, and is quite easy to use.

Cons I am using software version 1.81 and I encountered a problem that forced me to take the unit back. It made a serious error on route calculation and had me turning onto a non-existent road. It was an

  • "Broke Only After A Year - Very Slow Route Calculation"
    on by virk_2000_2000

    Pros Cheap, thats it.

Cons Low Life, Very Slow, No Battery, Less POIs

Summary Bought Roadmate 360 a year ago. It worked okay (nothing amazing about it though). Took a lot of time finding routes, had lot of trouble entering address in the GPS..it just won't take valid street names. Its does not support ZIP codes, so you keep struggle finding alternate city names to make the GPS happy and route address (seems like it accepts township names better than city names). Sometimes I felt like throwing it out of car window but $300 I spent on it kept me from doing that.
Then one fine day, it went mad and started reeboting itself and forgetting the route. It was dead. Customer Support refused to support.
