"reliability a major flaw. service is difficut to obtain, mind of its own"
Pros: if you know where you are going the unit will not disappoint you.
Cons: very expensive, unreliable, limited assistance on points of interest, over one hour wait to locate your unit
Summary: when the unit works it is generally accurate. However, it can give you wrong turns at crucial times. It has also just frozen up on me during a trip. I never know when it is going to work properly. I find myself printing maps when I can off the internet as backup. For the cost of the unit that is a little more work than i think i should do. The points of interest feature is a nice sales gimmick but falls woefully short on performance.

This guy does not know when to say when.
He should have contacted Magellan to find out if the unit it was a problem or not and tried to get it replaced. Likely it is something simple like he did not pull the antenna to the Up position and the unit had a problem getting a signal from a down antenna.
It is a simple to use unit. But sometimes simple is not enought.
Also it sounds like he is a Techno out of touch. He does not seem to have looked to the web site for updates or considered an external antenna or any other technical solutions. Nor has he talked to anyone else about the issues he is having.
I discount this review as it does not provide any additional value as the person seems to be a technophobe.
