"$25 for new maps when they come out"
Pros: Cheaper is not always better...
Cons: no free map updates. $25 DVD every time
Summary: MIO does not offer free maps, or even downloadable inexpensive map updates. You have to shell out $14.95 + $9.95. Be ware of ongoing map update purchases.

Yeah, I'm a Garmin user also, and $25 would be sweet! By the way does any GPS maker give map updates for free?

The update for my old garmin streetpilot III is $75. I just sent a C520 back because it was worse than my old street pilot on basic navigation funtions.

garmin charges upwards of $100 for updates to their software. i got a free update to v7 with my old GPS10, but when v8 came out, so did the checkbook.
