"Advanced features are many, yet documentation is weak."
Pros: intellegent camera views, creating POI, speedy queries
Cons: interace not as easy as garmin, screen buttons too small to hit while driving, must take time to read manual to use advanced features, tech (size, processing) specs are not avail easily
Summary: I have used a Gamin C320 for a while, before I decided to purchase this MIO C310x.
When searching for streets, POI; the garmin took a while, while the MIO fins instantly.
The Garmin interface is so easy to use, I can give it to my parents, and not worry about them figuring it out. The MIO however let me plot a route fairly easily, but if I wanted to have it show me food, gas, or bank data on the live map, I have yet to figure it out.
Overall, I love the MIO, wouldn't go back to a garmin. Once you see the amazing detail in the maps, the smart way it gives directions, the intuitive data displayed on the "dashboard: screen, the ability to add and store your own data and POI; I'm sure you will agree.Updated

Here are some key changes that will help you compare the Mio C310 vs the Mio C310x:
# The C310x uses Mio Map mapping software (a Mio-branded version of iGo)?bringing a completely different look & feel to the user interface. The C310x continues to use the same underlying Tele Atlas map database (not quite as good as the NAVTEQ; but getting better).
# The C310x offers pre-loaded US maps (50 US States + Guam & Puerto Rico), with Canadian maps on an included DVD
# The C310x still offers an MP3 player, which can play while navigating
# The C310x software supports additional viewing modes (horizon tilt, zoom & pan while in 3D mode), pedestrian navigation mode, as well as other UI customization options

I received the Mio 310x as a gift for Christmas. Because of my job I drive around a lot. This GPS has been a very useful tool to find my destinations. We recently used it in our vacation in Hawaii and it worked perfectly. It is very user friendly, warns you at an appropriate time before turns.
The only down side is not with the GPS itself but the Mio Technology. Recently they released a map update for Mio 310x, I ordered it the same day that was released and after a month I still have not received it. I have called Mio Tech Customer Services several times and they state that it was shipped and they are giving me a lot of trouble to get my money back. I ended up buying the update from Circuit City for $14.99. I paid $25 to Mio Tech for the update. Just be aware that Mio Tech's Customer Service is not the best. -
