  • "Too many steps"
    on by erhoads

Pros LOTS of Features!! : traffic, fuel, Points of Interest, Google search, 3D street level.

    Cons 1) battery gets hot.
    2) I need to tap 3-4x on a small arrow to find the turn by turn directions.
    3) Saving a favorite is not easy
    4) the window attachement is big and bulky and not good for travel in my PC bag.

Summary Gadget king or queen? Get it if you can stand the multi steps. Just want directions that work? Get a Garmin.

  • "not as good as a garmin, difficult to operate"
    on by rsdmnd

Pros lots of features in one navigation unit, screen was a good size,

Cons during a recent trip the screen switched to the promo/advertisment screen while giving turning direction and the destination had to be re entered, this occured every 4-5 minutes, very annoying.volume too low, bluetooth dropped calls, perfer my garmin

Summary product constantly switched to the promo screen with loud music touting the features of the unit while it was giving turning instructions then had to re enter destination, this occured every 4-5 minutes during the trip, was ready to toss it out the window.the volume was too low even on max setting for driving instruction, phone dropped calls, didnot display street name i was traveling on,was difficult to enter info/destinations,unit has alot of nice features but only some are easy to use and access during a trip, was very dis appointed in the product, had to return, the product may just had too much in it for all to work well together, will purchase another garmin with less features.

  • "Beware- Do not try updating the software"
    on by jitheshvv

    Pros Big screen- bright display

Cons Updated recent software:lots of problems. During navigation, the advt pop-up and the destination entered is lost.Audio output lost after handsfree calls. Had 2 revert back 2 older version to use! Google maps don't get updated. Toolbox login may fail

Summary Very buggy software. Do not update till they update it. Refer motonav forum for many other issues.

  • "Stopped working after one day."
    on by eshughes

    Pros Beautiful screen

Cons Sunlight heat build up killed the unit when car was parked for 30 minutes.

Summary Any device made to be placed in a windshield should resist heat enough to allow a visit to a fast food restaurant.
Clunky interface is MUCH harder to enter addresses than Garmin. This unit couldn't even show the correct address of my home within 200 yards when parked in the driveway. Sent it back for refund . Wait it is not ready for prime time yet.Buy garmin and save yourself a headache

  • "Some very important features LACKING"
    on by Kaze12

Pros Very nice display. Great colors and well designed case.

Cons The Motonav does not display the street you are currently on. At all. Roads can turn and twist, and become different streets. This GPS will constantly show you driving on a blank line. So you better have a good memory if you need help,

Summary I bought this GPS based on the CNET review. First time I have ever been very disappointed by a CNET review. The voice command is terrible! I pronounced everything very clearly and loudly. So did my wife. Over half the time it provided off the wall results that didnt even come close to what either of us said. We dont have accents or anything that would hamper or make voice recognition more difficult.

The voice command feature was one of the most important features to me.

The other astounding thing to me is what I listed in the cons. The road you are driving on is never labeled with a street name. EVER!. It displays every street around you, and upcoming cross streets, but not the street you are on. So, lets say you drive through an unfamiliar area and have car trouble. The street you drove down may have made twists and turns and could have gone through several name changes, of which the MOTONAV would NEVER have displayed or told you about.

You could tell the tow truck or ambulance what the cross street ahead is, or maybe the streets to the sides are, but not the street you are ON. Absurd.

If you want voice command activation and what to know where you are at a particular moment, without having remember every street you turn onto, dont get this GPS.
