"Do not buy! Bad support!" on by tp0x45

Pros: Good if you like to get frustrated.

Cons: Bad support! Motorola is big disappointment. They locked me out from download because I put the wrong year by accident (their default purchase date year is 2007). Cannot get anyone on the phone nor on the chat. Cannot download any updates. Maps old.

Summary: Technical support useless. Buggy. Freezes. Needs often resets.

"Took a chance on this new product, and was glad I did!" on by stack5960

Pros: Fast acquisitions, intuitive features, responsive touch screen, very accurate maps, hands free communications much better than anticipated, great street annunciations, this GPS has it all.

Cons: Have not tested fully, but appears battery life could be short compared to other units

Summary: I bought this GPS for a Christmas present to my self as I wanted to use it on a Christmas trip to Texas. As this unit was only introduced in Oct. from Motorola, and was being marketed exclusively through Radio Shack, I was reluctant to buy a brand new release, but this unit advertised everything I was looking for and it was specially priced for Christmas. I took the unit out of the box, gave it the recommended charge and went to programming in my Texas destination. What an easy job! The touch screen was very responsive and the directions provided by the unit were very intuitive. I attached the unit to my windshield in the provided carrier and headed for Dallas. The maps were very precise and provided me flawless guidance without a single missed turn. The find food & lodging came in very handy and never missed a single point. The real surprise was how well the hands free phone features worked, as I had read from other reviews that these features did not work well due to weak FM recievers or poor quality speakers. The Motorola hands free worked flawlessly and provided great reception. The folks on the other end of the conversation said that it sounded like I was in the same room with them. Overall, I was very impressed with this unit and would recommend it to anyone considering a comparable Garmin unit. The only thing I wished would have come with the unit was a wall charger...it only comes standard with a vehicle power source. For the money, the Motorola offers more features at a comparible price to the Garmin, and they work! Keep up the good work Motorola.

"Very nice gift for starting college student" on by ryanstorey61

Pros: Easy to use touch screen, sharp image, precise directions, fantastic bluetooth features.

Cons: Short battery life, buggy as stated in the CNET review.

Summary: I got this as a gift from my parents the year before I started college. It was a great investment for them. As a freshman starting college, I didn't always know where to go and how to get there, but the Motonav TN30 made it so much easier to get me to where I needed to go with no problem. The bluetooth feature is a must for me. Traveling all over New York State my parents would like to know where I am at, and with talking on the phone illegal, this is a fantastic feature! The only thing that I see completely wrong is software updates. It has to be done during one year of purchase. But with nothing in Upstate New York ever really changing it isn't much of an issue for me. All-in-all, fantastic product. I would recommend this to any of my friends.

"After 15 months I get a fatal application error." on by Hersh1693

    Pros: Worked for 15 months.

Cons: Worked for 15 months then I recieved a fatal application error, when I contacted Motorola support to get a software reload I was told it was out of warranty and couldn't download the software. I now own a $200 brick. Worst support I have seen.

Summary: I will never buy another Motorola product, ever!!!!!
