    Pros Price, Loaded with Features

    Cons No "Off" button

Summary I did my homework before purchasing this and it truly is the best value for a low priced but backed with features GPS. I'm very happy with it overall. Navigation is great, recalculating is very fast, traffic works great and the POI's are pretty good. Sometimes it does take about a minute to aquire the signal when starting it up. My biggest complaint is that the system doesn't have an "off" button. It can only be in "on" mode or in "standby" mode. This standby modes is similar to a sleep mode on a computer. The problem is that it slowly drains the battery, so you can't just leave it in the glove box and pull it out once a month. Contrary to what the other reviewer wrote, you don't need to purchase an additional plug in charger b/c it charges through USB very quickly when hooked up to a computer. If it had an off button, I would give it a 5 Stars.
One other piece to note that I haven't seen anywhere else is that you need to have the car charger connected to the gps unit (doesn't have to be plugged into the car though) in order for the "real time" traffic feature to work

  • "Not so great"
    on by rafi22950

    Pros Very sleek looking

Cons Slow response, small text, charging problems

Summary I just bought one from A store which does not do any returns . Their store policy.Very dissaponted to have bought this device,The text on the screen is too small to read ,Charging is a nightmare at home because you have to buy acharger that can do it and it is quite expensive ,otherwise you can continue to charge it in the car but it is too slow,Recalculating a road is also extremely slow this is another very weak point of it . I regret a lot buying

  • "Good overall unit, great value,5 stars if would turn off"
    on by bp4wdive

Pros accurate, reasonably fast, a real convenience in unknown territory

Cons some fonts are small, can't turn off

Summary Contrary to previous review, I cannot turn off this unit so battery goes dead and takes a few minutes to charge prior to use after an extended period off (has latest firmware). Other than that, I have no complaints. It was very handy on a vacation. Very nice to mark a spot to get back to, e.g., camp site.

"The Navigon 2100 can be turned off, although it isn't very intuitive. To turn the unit off, touch the power button, the unit goes into 'standby' mode. Quickly touch the power button again, the unit turns on.
Now HOLD the power button until the screen turns off. It takes 3 - 5 seconds. The unit is now comletely off and won't drain power, although the battery will loose voltage slowly, as will any other battery of this type."

This does not work on my unit, please elaborate if possible. Thanks!

  • "Excellent GPS for a great price."
    on by jdowning

Pros Traffic updates, lane indicators, clean graphics and GUI, good zoom level when driving (unlike every garmin I've tried), I see no lag (like the review said).

Cons Wish the traffic antenna was internal to product. Traffic antenna is part of the power cable, so if you need traffic, it has to be plugged in.

Summary Solid GPS, much better than any Garmin I've tested.
