    "really nice" on by CaliforniaGrown

Pros: nice and thin, can find reasturants, parking, and gas stations nearby without anything special. search for things by city or state wide. nice 2D/3D viewing. The free traffic reports for life is nice

Cons: difficult to use for someone who's never used a GPS to use.

    Summary: pretty nice product.

    "Clarification PLEASE" on by chasahomyjr

Pros: The excellent graphics and free traffic updates. Works excellent when you aren't hiding between skyscrapers in a big city and expecting the RF from the satellites to find you.

    Cons: Haven't found anything yet.

Summary: How come nothing but excuses to degrade this unit were used in the review? A Li-Ion battery out of the box that lasted an hour, gee last time I checked it takes a couple charges for a battery to get it's legs. The only unit on the market to provide an almost true to life view of the road ahead so you can make adjustments accordingly. FREE traffic updates, maybe if you paid more attention to what it was doing and less time finding things not to like about it. . .You did mention that it showed on the map(s) it alerted you to problems. As far as startup goes, did the satellites have a clear shot at the unit or were you hiding between buildings? As with EVERY satellite based consumer electronic gadget, unless it has a clear shot at the unit the RF signal has to find it first. Hiding from it so you can come up with excuses does nothing for your cause and reduces your integrity factor.

"No free software updates!" on by BEusebius

Pros: I just bought a slightly old Navigon model and love the hardware.

Cons: Here is the big warning--Navigon does not provide a free update to maps and POIs. If you happen to buy a unit that is at the end of its product life span, be prepared to fork over an extra $80 to get new maps.

Summary: Good hardware; cheesy software update policy.

"Dont waste your time" on by aigleias

    Pros: Speed Alert

Cons: Free traffic not accurate, really bad car mount, screen grayish, routes are bad, I had garmin then bought this and returned it the next day, went right back to garmin.

"Save your money buy from a different manufacture" on by bowlindude

Pros: size, price, free updates w/some models

Cons: cheap product overall, paper thin touchscreen that fractures like glass that is not covered by warranty, poor directions, speed advise normally wrong

Summary: 've had mine for 2 months and lcd screen cracked. It was never left in the vehicle or dropped, abused in any manner. Called navigon they claim at first that the 2090s is so new they cannot fix them yet that if i could wait a month or 2 to try then!! I get a little puffy then they say well.... send it in and for $25 they'll troubleshoot it which the $25 is non-refundable. Bottom line.... lcd screen is not warrantied and they express not feelings as wanting to do so either even though the unit is a couple months old. Furthermore when it did work directions, speed advise, etc were mostly wrong! My sister has a magellan.... i should have went with gut feelings but it was a xmas thing sorta... BEWARE
