"One of the good ones."
on by juncmanPros Great screen, clear audio, one of the best, most sensitive receivers I have ever seen. Lots of pints of interest, interesting camera for photo destination record (gimmicy, but cool).
Cons Big, poor mount. Not the best support. Basic GPS functionality, and uses exit number not names. some of the freeway exits here in LA are not numbered!
Summary This is a very good device. The best part is the receiver. It is the most sensitive I have ever used. It will get a GPS signal inside my house! (Now I don’t live in a cave or a 40,000 Sq ft mansion, but in the middle of the house I can get a signal, amazing.
It gets a fix on the sats (24 of them) very fast and hold the signal very solidly. Even under overpasses, trees, parking garages (not subterranean), and almost anywhere. The touch screen is good, but the touch screen scroll wheel sucks.
The built in camera is OK. When you find a very pretty place, you can take a picture of it, store it, its GPS coordinates and then later, you can find the picture, select it and navigate back to the same place. It is just as easy if not easier to just tell the device mark this place, name it, and use it as a favor it. Then when you get there, you have that, “Oh, it’s just as I remember it effect when you get there. Not the “yea, it still looks like the picture effect. On the Navman web site you can post your pics and GPS coordinates. Then others can download the pics to their Navman and go to “YOUR spot. Good, Bad, that is up to you…
Points of interest are good. You get about 3 million. The buttons on the front can be useful if you are in a hurry.
The device comes with a case, AC adapter, car charger and the weak spot, THE MOUNT. This is not a good mount. It has a screw on the back that no matter how tight I make it (and that is pretty tight without breaking it), this mount still is not firm. This is in part to the weight of the device, but it just should not be.
Other than the mount, it is a very good, very sensitive device, that works great.
