"Good for the price"
Pros: Good size, easy to enter info; includes ability to store music and photos, but I don't need those functions-just a GPS
Cons: Had problems with previous model. Hoping this one will have fixed some of the previous defects.
Summary: I received my first Nextar Q3 model for Christmas of 2006 because at that time it had all the features I wanted and a reasonable price. I went through 3 car charger cords during the warranty period. Poorly designed cord; the tip kept breaking off. (Good prompt customer service all 3 times it broke, but obviously no one cares to improve the cord.) Unit works well and easy to input street names etc. I understand others' complaints here about not updating POI and street names. In the 1 1/2 years I had it, I used it mostly for navigation not POIs.
About a month ago the company contacted me and offered to upgrade my old unit for the newest X3-elite for $110 more. So I sent off the old one and my money and received the new one today. I'm already familiar with how it works, so I can see the improvements they have made in this newer model. More features and more user friendly. They also include a website where users can submit POIs and new roads and map updates, so maybe they are finally getting serious about updating it more often. I noticed that the car charger cord looks the same as the one on the previous model that broke 3 times. Hopefully I'll have better luck with it this time.
I agree with previous comment that if I had it to do over, I might have preferred another brand like a Garmin, but for the price, this one does the job.
