Pioneer AVIC Z-1

Pros: Big screen, great sound, great nav, great burner, price

Cons: Voice recog not perfect, can't use all func(s) when driving!

Summary: Anyone who watched Knight Rider would get that reference in my title (LOL). Seriously, the AVIC Z1 is a technological wonder! This is my first nav/entertainment system and it is probably the most comprehensive on the market, to have a hard drive that not only retrieves but stores info (such as: music and maps in a nav deck) is downright slick (no more fussing with CDs)! The voice recog is great for music and function commands (i.e. changing screens, sources, and albums). It can still use a little work on voice address searches, as I am constantly repeating myself; the wrong city, or street name appears (I've only had it for 3 days, so maybe it's me). The DVD playback is great but can only be used at a standstill (it would be nice to bypass this when other people are in the car). As well, address searches (if not using voice recog) can only be done while at a standstill; it's safer anyways! The burner is fast and the burnt tracks sound great, the screen resolution is clear and bright. Another great thing about this system is the price, check out other systems with the capabilities of the Z1 and you will see how much value there is in this unit. Pioneer has done one hell of a job, I can't imagine what they'll think of next!
