Pioneer AVIC Z-1

Pros: Great sound, bright screen

Cons: Quality, IPOD Adaptor, Can't read MP3's, Slow boot up time, Voice recognition.

Summary: I experienced poor reliability (had it repaired 2 times) and still the unit stops working intermittently. IPOD adaptor is useless as you can only scroll down one line at a time (imagine trying to get to an artist starting with M when you start at A and only go one line at a time. Voice recognition is so bad, my kids have me use it to make them laugh. Only words it recognizes is back, cancel route, and home, any other word I try (i.e. street name) and it gives me a different word.
The hard drive idea is great, but that fact you can't copy mp3's makes it not worth the money. If you are like me you have already converted your CD's to MP3's and have favorites, etc. Why do I have to go through the process to reburn everything. And if the hard drive ever fails, you'll have to redo the entire process as you can't back it up.

Buy anything else and save yourself some money and time.
