"The Maps are Terrible!"1.0 starson by corlando52
Pros: Voice recognition is nice to have, recording feature a nice plus
Cons: The maps have gotten me lost more than they have taken me to the correct destination
Summary: There are lots of nice features about this, but isn't the main idea to get from Point A to Point B? I live on Long Island, NY, and this has constantly brought me down dead end streets, showing that they are throughways. I'm not talking about new developements, but areas and forests that have existed forever.
Another big problem is that the zoning is wrong. You'll try to find a street in a specific area, and it won't find it. Then you'll discover the map thinks the street is in a different area. And this is extremely frustrating with voice recognition.
I've complained about this to Pioneer numerous time, who really just didn't respond. I understand that whoever is providing them with the maps is at fault. I had to use my daughter's I-phone's GPS function to get me "unlost" from where the Z-1 took me.
I spent a lot of money on this and I rely on it a lot. I am extrememly disappointed in the mapping. I should have just stuck with my little Magellan Roadmate 700. The maps were flawless.
