"A match made in heaven!"
3.5 starson by littlezahn2Pros: Ease of Use, Features, Accuracy, Flexability
Cons: Cost, Lack of Included App, Bluetooth connection?, Poor Mic Quality
Summary: In the end, its all about being a GPS booster for your iPhone, and the TomTom kit does it well. The kit quickly fits your phone, aquires the needed signal, and locates your car within a few meters.
Note: The kit works with all location-based apps, so you can use it with other turn-by-turn apps like MapQuest or Traffic Apps like Waze.
Where the kit lacks is all the additional features, including the "hands free" bluetooth capabilities. Lets just say the mic sucks. TomTom also decided it was a bad idea to stream the other end of the call through the auxilary audio out, which I can understand due to feedback issues, but the integrated speaker does nothing good for the person on the other end.
I would also like to see a bundle price included for the TomTom app.
Finally, why would they use bluetooth to connect to the iPhone, when the Kit has a dock connector? Lame.
In total, a great GPS enabler for the iPhone, but a poor hands-free system. But what are you really buying it for anyway?
