"Absolutely Worthless"
Pros: Nice Screen
Cons: Outdated Maps and Traffice feature doesn't work
Summary: Over a period of five days I tired to use my new TomTom for all of my trips. I live and do most of my driving in Atlanta, GA. The first time I used the device, it directed me to turn the wrong way on a one way street. It also directed me to a point 2 blocks from my intended destination. I tried using the device to find a restaurant in Birmingham, AL and it took me to a point in the middle of a dense housing neighborhood some 10 miles from the restaurant's actual address. I tried using the device a third time to find a specific address only to find out that the devices maps didnt't have street numbers from 1000 to 4000 for a major street in Atlanta. The traffic feature never worked. It always indicted clear roads even though I could be sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on I-85 running through the middle of Atlanta. The device is completely worthless unless you like looking at the pretty screen.

TomTom's are pretty good units- what you're describing doesn't sound like a poorly designed product or outdated maps (the 920 comes loaded with the newest TeleAtlas), it sounds like a defective unit... the results it's given you sound just too far off the mark.
This happens occasionally during the first run of a new electronics product- all companies, all types- from gps units to ipods to XBox 360's...
I'd suggest returning it and trying another one before giving up on TomTom- they make a pretty good product, and they are a LOT cheaper than the (debatably) marginally better Garmins...
