Pros If I could get one to work longer than an hour, I would tell you a pro.
Cons This is my second one in 3 hours. After 2 hours with tech on the first one, and thought it was a bum GPS... took it back for a second one. Worked on the way home. Now after putting in all of their online updates it's as useless as the first one!
Summary I am so disappointed in this product and their software. Why anyone would make a product that crashes as much as this is ludicrous.Be very careful if you purchase one in downloading their software add ons. It let another map into the system, that I had not purchased and then said I couldn't access that map. The original map that came with the GPS disappeared. It's just bad software all around!

Pros None - It is worthless!
Cons Customer Support
Summary I recently moved back to the United States after retiring from the military. My family moved to a new town in a new state. After getting lost a few times we thought a GPS is what we needed. We got the 140 at Target for a good price and were impressed immediately. UNTIL...........
I tried to update the GPS. That is where the trouble began. The map update continually timed out and would not load onto the GPS when using TomTom's HOME program. If you google TomTom map update problems then you will be surprised by the number of results. I read a lot of the forums and wasted many hours with Internet forums and TomTom customer support. The support technician did not know how to help me. I tried everything under the sun. I probably spent 20 hours trying to get the map update to work, but to no avail. In short, we used the TomTom for 20 minutes driving home, but it has not worked in four days since I tried to "update" it. Do not buy this product! I am taking it back to the store and buying a garmin! Additionally, I am going to post this on every single review site that I can.
Pros Seemed to work fine at first.
Cons Customer service is a joke and they will lie to you.
Summary After five calls to customer service which were of no help they decide to authorize an RMA. TomTom's faulty software updates left the device w/out a workable map. They tried to get me to pay for shipping by lying and saying that shipping would be taken care of at FEDEX by showing them the RMA number. After the 6th call to CS then and only then did they email a shipping label. I received the device back from TonTom and it doesn't receive a signal and they didn't return the device with a mounting bracket (the one I sent in had the mounting bracket atteched). I could go on and on about how bad this company and their customer service are, but I've wasted enough time on this company already. I really couldn't do justice to how miserably bad this company is anyway. Just stay far away. From now on it wil be any GPS maker, BUT TomTom receiving my business.
