I love it!
Pros: Various voice selections, hasn't gotten me lost yet. If you're bored, it provides you with nearby places to go, tourist attractions, and nearby stores
Cons: It sometimes takes what seems like forever to find the satellite`, which wastes time, and short battery life.

Easy to use. Bad software.
Pros: Easy to use the features.
Cons: Directions are not calculated properly. Bad software. Short life of battery.
I've sent the first time my device to the warranty repair center CYBER TEST and got it back "repaired", but 1 year later I got the same problem again. The second time they "repaired" it again, but sent it to the wrong address .... thus my GPS device got lost. Now I'm still waiting for a replacement. I'm now in my 3rd month WITHOUT GPS. It's completely not acceptable this situation. Both Radio Shack and Cyber Test say there's no fault on their side. A typical responsibility ball exchanging game.
CYBER TEST has a very bad service !!!
I wouldn't buy from Radion Sheck again.

Inarticulate manual; negative online support
Pros: I suppose it will be useful once I get it mounted
Cons: For mounting on windshield, little manual simply says "refer to poster in front pages." No poster; only crude little drawings with no explanation.

Best GPS navigator at $100 price
Pros: Low price, Includes Canada map
Cons: no Text-to-speech. no advanced functions
I drove to Canada last week w/ this GPS, it did great job in the Niagara Falls to Toronto Downtown. I think there's almost no GPS providing Canada map with this low price. Recalculation was not too slow as I read from the reviews, and you can record your own voice and upload it to your GPS. During the trip to Canada, I could get a lot of help from POI function, too.
If you want a perfect product and you have money, you can buy $400+ Garmin GPS. But if you don't, I can say this is the best product for this price.

Simple, effective, affordable, what else do you need?
Pros: Ease of use
Cons: Lack of speech on street names
I am glad that I bought this as my first GPS. Maybe #2 will have more bells and whistles but by then I am sure the prices will be in line with todays entry level receiver.

Great GPS for the price
Pros: Easy to use, Customer service was great
Cons: It took me 4 to get one that worked, other than that none so far
When I had my issue with my unit(s), the customer service was real great. I would recommend this to others, but warn them of what I went through before getting one that worked 100%. Had to get 4 due to the white screen issue.

Great entry GPS. New pricepoint established.
Pros: Works out of the box. Updateable maps. Easy interface
Cons: battery life could be better
Good stylish design and build quality.
TOMTOM Home access to updated maps is a big plus.
This gps uses the Hamerhead rather than SirfStar GPS chips but they are fast to lock on and hold signals, even in the basement of my home. This should not deter anyone from selecting this unit.
Not a fan of the windshield mount, I bought a Nav-Mat friction mount which has held the TomTom's suction cup for a week now without breaking a seal.
Seems perfect for major route. Time will tell for the back roads, but they are not too important to me. If I need more in a year or two, the functionality will have improved and the prices reduced further.
Recommended for the new user with basic GPS needs.
I bought this entry level TomTom product before Christmas for less than $150 Canadian. We just returned from a 4200 mile trip from Onario to Florida and back with lots of points in between.
The TomTom 3rd was almost flawless, getting confused only on a portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia and the private roads of the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina, and in each case the confusion was spotty, owing either to a break in satellite signal due to the mountains or spotty road databases on private road networks.
I learned to rely almost completely on it and it never let me down. Easy to use. easy to read en route. I replaced the suction cup windshield mount with a Navmat friction pad which sat on the dashboard. This allowed positioning the unit closer to me, and moving the unti a bit when the sun washed out the screen.
I made little use of the POI database as this did not interest me so I have few comments on the.
The 3 1/2 inch screen was completely adequate and visible.
I can't figure how you could go wrong with this unit in getting into the GPS world.

Makes one's life simpler when trying to find destination
Pros: useful, price
Cons: directions can be misleading at times, incomplete instructions, no memory card slot
Yet one needs to use common sense because at times it might give unclear or wrong instructions. One cannot blindly follow the directions. This is understandable since in my experience it occurred under unique conditions such as when the road was not on the map.
I have also found that the instructions are not complete when it comes to some of the less used features such as adding POI's to the database. It is frustrating to try and find out how to do something and not find the instructions for it. The menu system could be better designed to make it easier to navigate.
I highly recommend it to those on a tight budget or don't want to spend a lot on a GPS.

great value for entry level
Pros: seems to have better coverage of rural Ontario farm gate addresses. great value for price
Cons: Ontario rural areas need upgrading. Missing roads, incorrect intersection layouts. Does not use county roads to by-pass urban areas for fastest routes

Simple and Affordable
Pros: Great Price, simple, easy, and Works
Cons: Expensive Accessories and Add-ons
This unit has everything that I wanted:
-turn-by-turn voice directions
-quick reliable navigation
-automatic re-routing
-clear up to date maps
-updatable maps
No this unit does not have bluetooth or an SD card slot. But, I personally don't need it. It comes with a mini USB connector that you connect to your computer. When the GPS is recognized, this triggers the desktop companion software to automatically download to your computer from the internet. The unit has a little over a gig of onboard storage for the us/canada maps and then about 100MB for add-on stuff (voices, map colors). I like the fact that it includes map share technology and a port for attaching a traffic antenna that works over FM. But, be aware the antenna is an extra $125 plus a subscription fee (I think).
Other than that, no complaints. It does what it says it can on the box and website. It basically operates itself once you input the destination. It is also very thin to fit easily in your pocket.
I thought the screen might be small, but in reality, it is plenty big enough. If it was any bigger, I feel like it might impede your view when mounted on the windshield or be too big for your pocket.
