"Nav features on the one kill the Garmin Nuvi"
Pros: Advanced Navigation Features
Cons: Battery life a bit low
Summary: When you actually compare the navigation features of the One to the Garmin Nuvi there is no comparison, the One can save routes, have multiple vias (multiple stops in a route) and a functional detour button along with tons of other customization. ALL of these things are missing from the nuvi line, which in some cases is double the cost of the One and provides a very dumbed down user experience.

Bought two TomTom One 9v3)---both were defective. Two trips to the store, two hours on tech support and reformatting and reprogramming only to find out there was no fix. Asked to be upgraded to the next unit up for one that works---flat out 'no'. Told me to go to the post office, wrap up and mail the second defective unit for exchange of same.
I've spent of my time trying to fix their problems. GO GARMIN!!!! IT WORKS FLAWLESSLY -
The Tom Tom has one advantage over the Nuvi, Electronic Compass, thats it. The Nuvi has a better Nav Chip, faster route calculations/re calcs, more features for the seasoned travelor and one big advantage in the TEXT TO SPEECH. So when you use the Tom Tom it will say, turn right in 50 feet, Nuvi says Turning right on Broad Street. The POI DB on the Tom Tom is ancient, even the old maps/POI on Garmin is far superior.
If you want a NAV for the UNited States and Canada buy GARMIN, if you want a NAV for Europe buy the Tom Tom. The Nuvi was designed and engineered in the USA, TOM TOM is a foreign company based in Holland, you do the math.
