"Terrible Mapping"
Pros: larger 4 " screen
Cons: Tomtom is reluctant to stand by there products
Summary: The newer version of us/canada maps was very poor with the software showing that I was driving beside the highway that I was on and in cities in Alberta, it had my location 1/2 block out from where I actually was, causing the gps to get confused and often telling me to turn around before I reached the actual street I was supposed to be on. Terrible mapping, terrible service from tomtom.

I had the same problem with the extremely skimpy maps, which is the main reason I sent it back. What good is a GPS that doesn't include cities the size of Seattle?!

I was getting the same problems Very frusterating. In fact missed a couple of turns cause it was 90 meters in nowhere. I talked to techs from Day one and finally gave them GPS positions and they told me to return the device. Lets see what happens. I will have to wait a week, kinda skered. I've used the Magellan one and so far I like it better. No Issues of that sort.
Oh well..too late now. -
I live in a fairly well developed part of south-eatsern Ontario and my TomTom One was able to get me only to within a few hunderd meters of my house before it tried to send me astray. I just kept going in the right direction (180 degress opposite to what the TomTom said which would have put me on a circular road) and it soon figured out where I was and then started giving accurate directions. The documentation is terrible, and the web site is not helpful.
