Alpine's 2002 Type-R speakers feature a new high excursion motor design with an extra large woofer magnet and vented pole piece for deep bass performance with long throw. All Type-R component and coaxial speakers feature one-inch tweeters that swivel 15°, 12dB crossover with tweeter protection, aluminum-coated poly cones, and extra-large rubber surrounds, which minimize resonance problems and dramatically increase low bass. Alpine's Type-R speakers have a completely new cosmetic design from previous Alpine speakers. The speakers' new aluminum coated poly cones and red Type-R logo create an easily identifiable uniform look with the Type-R subwoofers, allowing audio enthusiasts to create an elegant and uniform sound system design throughout the vehicle.
