Nice treble range, great low-end bass, appealing look
So far, I have no cons other than installation fees (not due to speakers directly, just generally)

I just bought these from Circuit City today, and I think they're great so far. I have a '96 Jetta GLS, and my mom has has a '97 BMW 328i. My point: my mom has two 10" Pioneer subs in her rear deck. I got 2 6.5" speakers installed in my front door panels. I would say that these speakers have a bass level that is easily more than one 10" sub, but has the capacity to sound like two of them (with the bass turned up to max--note: bass control on the deck, not the speaker unit). From the outside of my car, it even sounds like I have subs! I believe that these speakers have two tweeters and a woofer. And not only can you feel the bass, you can see it when the woofer moves. Enough about the bass though. The treble goes up very high obviously, with the two tweeters. Before today, I hadn't even heard of Polk...but, apparently, they only make speakers (nothing else but speakers, no subs, amps, etc)...and I can see why. With quality like this, I don't blame them.
The visual appeal of these speakers is also amazing, because, whether or not by design, they look like multi-spoked rims. Rather than having a stupid, dorky look, I think it looks sweet. Combine that with the cost being under $150.00 to buy and install at Circuit City (with no problems or protection plan), I think it is a buy that's worth looking at. Also, just before making my decision, I was looking at a pair of Kicker speakers for the same price...but the 2 sets were almost identical in sound and looked fairly similar. I chose these just because the sound was slightly crisper, and you could see the bass knock, and I'm a bass guy. I hope someone actually reads this, and I hope it affects their decision.
