The Griffin iClear is easy on the eyes and will shield your fifth-generation Apple iPod from external harm.

Quick Take: The Griffin iClear polycarbonate case for the fifth-generation Apple iPod is Griffin Technology's latest endeavor in the world of iPod cases. This time around, the makers have chosen a transparent two-piece case that snaps around your iPod to protect it from the wear and tear of everyday usage. Griffin also includes two separate backings for both the 30GB and 60GB iPod models in order to ensure a secure fit. Once installed, the iClear does not cover the scroll dial, though it's recessed far enough into the casing to prevent major damage. As with most cases, there are cutouts to accommodate the headphone jack, the dock connector port, and the hold switch. For $20, the Griffin iClear is an inexpensive solution for minor dings and scratches but probably won't hold up to a long fall. In addition, users should beware of objects that might damage the vulnerable scroll dial.
