Summary: I bought a Samsonite bag 2 years ago, which looks exactly like this. Everything looks the same, from the small pocket on the side, the front, the logo placement, the handles, I mean I thought I was looking at my Samsonite bag.
Unless...there is some connection between "Solo" and Samsonite this is a clear rip-off -

Summary: I LOVE this back. There are more on their newly redone site www.solocases.com. I carry this bag every day- very sturdy. Retractable strap is ingenious.

Samsonite does not make their own bags- other companies make bags for samsonite and samsonite puts their label on them. It's called Private Label.
If you look at the bag of the tag on the "Samsonite" bag you bought- it will say to contact SOLO for warranty not samsonite. -

Summary: For what its worth, overall I must confess that this is a great buy for the price.
I wanted a ballistic bag that can not only hold my laptop, but have a decent storage space so I don't have to carry an extra knapsack and what caught my eyes was the retractable or 'smart' strap. I also wanted something very conservative. Not leather (too hot in summer/too cold in winter) with plenty of zips and straps hanging all over as I sometimes remove the strap and lose it as well.
After few weeks of hunting online and going to stores as well, this was the bag that kept popping up.
When looking for a bag, please go to some of the electronic and office stores just to get a feel for what you want because most of the times I looked online, the picture did not match my expectations. After seeing this bag at Officemax, my outlook changed.
I also pulled hard on the strap and did a little bit of 'ruffle' test.
Finally, I purchased this bad boy for around $50. Don't go cheap but not too expensive either. There is a Samsonite plus others that look alike with the strap but for less than half-price, this is a sure deal.
