"Like an ant farm - full of bugs"
onSummary The specs, appearance, and flexibility of this drive make it appear attractive. I'm happy to report that after having all kinds of problems, spending several hours with Iomega customer service and exchanging the power supply and the drive (in separate transactions), two months after purchasing the drive -- it finally works.

"But... I like the drive - no problems"
onSummary Seriously - I read the negative comments. But Iomega had refurbed ones for something like $55 (I paid $45 cuz of some coupon) and this is the only portable drive I could find in this price range that was really portable and not like a piece of brick. OK - so how did it work. Tried it with multiple computers, both USB 1.1 and 2.0 ports - but with ROXIO EZ-CD software. It just ran through all my diskwriting...Any complaints - just that it is a bit on the noisy side. The design otherwise is extremely cool - the lid is not that bad really - the hinge seems to be reinforeced with a similarly shaped steel thing running along it.. It also does not run hot - unlike their earlier predator drive (A 4X4X6X). That drive still works fine. I can't comment on the bundles software since I have never used it. Its possible that the bundled software is the problem and not the drive itself. In that case, try using Roxio. Someone mentioned in the posts that this drive is made by Liteon. If so, it increases my faith in the product. I've had the best experience so far with a Liteon IDE CD-RW..

"Hardware okay but terrible software"
onSummary 1. This is the third iomega Cdrw I used by far(the others are my friends') The iomega's software NEVER work well with Windows OS. For example, the iomega's software Usually Freonze without any reason. (you push any botten the progarm just NO respone) 2. The software spend A LOT of time to prepare before it working. ( Such as prelord before it starts to burn a cd). 3. If you "lucky enought", your CD may stuck in the machine and cannot open and get it out just like my friend's. 4. Even iomega has big name, but I cannot understand why this kind of BIG company can have this poor quility of products.

"Why buy something that does not work?"
onSummary In spite of having had my fingers burnt with two ZIP100 that died of the blue click of death, I bought a ZipCD650 that worked fine, later a Predator 24/10/40 that refuses to be recognized by any of my computers. Support is helpless. Here's another paperweight for my desk.

"Drive works okay"
onSummary The drive works great in an environment that already has a CD Rom (installation purposes). Iomega needs to put out drivers on 3.5" floppy for those of us not installing it into a computer with a CD already. I had to borrow a back-pack CD rom, load the drivers for the backpack using it's floppy disk drivers, then use it to install the drivers for the Predator. Once installed it worked like a charm.
