  • "But... I like the drive - no problems"

Summary: Seriously - I read the negative comments. But Iomega had refurbed ones for something like $55 (I paid $45 cuz of some coupon) and this is the only portable drive I could find in this price range that was really portable and not like a piece of brick. OK - so how did it work. Tried it with multiple computers, both USB 1.1 and 2.0 ports - but with ROXIO EZ-CD software. It just ran through all my diskwriting...Any complaints - just that it is a bit on the noisy side. The design otherwise is extremely cool - the lid is not that bad really - the hinge seems to be reinforeced with a similarly shaped steel thing running along it.. It also does not run hot - unlike their earlier predator drive (A 4X4X6X). That drive still works fine. I can't comment on the bundles software since I have never used it. Its possible that the bundled software is the problem and not the drive itself. In that case, try using Roxio. Someone mentioned in the posts that this drive is made by Liteon. If so, it increases my faith in the product. I've had the best experience so far with a Liteon IDE CD-RW..
