company sucks

Pros: few good additions not worth the upgrade

Cons: support ? what support?

Review: It all comes down to a company too much into making money to bother to take the effort to provide support unless you give them even more money.

ROXIO DOESN'T STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS

Pros: There really isn't much to this program that you can't already do with the software included on your Mac. But if you have $100 to throw away, buy it!

Cons: It's features are overexagerated, nothing too spectacular here! Roxio will not stand behind their return policy or honor rebates!

Review: I bought Toast 8 in April and was offered a $30 mail in rebate. I mailed it in with all documentation I had available to me and was responded to saying I didn't provide proper proof of ownership. I didn't know what more they wanted. I never received a confirmation email and all the information they wanted was on one single page after my purchase, which was what I included with the rebate form. I attempted getting a full refund, Roxio's return policy is your money back within 30 days, but that was fruitless. The first time I submitted my request for a refund, I received an email stating they had received my request, but that was the last thing I heard from the folks at Roxio. The second request I sent, I never received a response to. It's one thing to make a mistake but it is another one to LIE to your customers and not stand behind your policies which you have outlined clearly in black and white! I think it is pretty safe to say that I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER ROXIO OR SONIC PRODUCT EVER AGAIN!

Limited audio usefulness.

Pros: Beats iTunes for copying CD's and converts analogue LP's and tapes to digital files.

Cons: Audio editing equipment (Spin Doctor) is practically worthless.

Review: Anyone who's attempted to use Spin Doctor after using Cool Edit to edit wave forms will tell you the Roxio program is a joke--just a bunch of bright lights and useless wavy patterns that are impossible to edit with any precision at all. Even when I ignore the wavy patterns and try to clip, snip, and edit based on time, I cannot get to the precise hundredths of a second--only a close approximation. Moreover, in monitoring analogue signals with Spin Doctor, I get constant intermittent distortion through my Mac audio outlets (fortunately not present on the recording). The same problem doesn not occur with other programs (even free downloaded ones). If Roxio doesn't do anything to improve Spin Doctor, they may as well exclude it from the package.

THE way to burn on the Mac

Pros: Easy, fast, reliable, does so many things the OS and iLife can't

Cons: Pricey, but worth it

Review: Totally agree that this is a must have application. If you want to do any sort of burning you need it - what's built into the OS can't do disc copying, can't do data spanning, can't do music DVDs, DivX, DVD copying, it goes on and on.

iLife is great for editing and stuff and creating things, but when it comes time to burn it, Toast is all I use.

Fast, clear, easy 2 use and files are easy 2 access

Pros: Everythings HOTT from design 2 fast burning

Cons: none yet it seems flawless on the G5

Review: go get it. Its a must have upgrade
