"Exceeded my expectations"
4.5 starson by djoberhePros: Belies the product reviews that say that FM transmitters are a poor option for auto use.
Cons: I do sometimes need to reposition the unit a bit to establish a clear signal to the car antenna.
Summary: As Pandora has ruined me for listening to broadcast radio stations, I was looking for a way to stream music from my Blackberry Storm to my car stereo. The reviews I've read suggest that FM transmitters provide poor connectivity to a car antenna, so the Eznex has exceeded my expectations. I didn?t have much difficulty finding a clear frequency, even here in the outskirts of Los Angeles, and I was able to complete my 30-mile commute with only one or two bursts of static. On a 30-mile trip from Orlando, FL, to Cocoa Beach, I only encountered a burst of static once while passing under high voltage lines and again at a toll booth. Otherwise I've gotten clear sound, good bass, and a cutoff of the higher frequencies that seems common with radio transmission to speakers.
As for the complaint I read about messy wires with the Eznex, it may seem that way because the unit is really really small. A light one-inch cube that I leave dangling from the audio output jack on my Blackberry in its hip holster. And since I recharge it instead of using the 12-volt power cord, I have only a couple inches of my thin ?dangle cord.?
