Unaffected sound quality through headphones, good mic

Pros: The sound quality from the mic is same if not better than on the iPhone or the stock headset. It picks up clearly even if worn on the chest under a shirt and hoodie.
Sound is perfect when coupled with Shure headphones. fully functional remote

Cons: The mic capsule is slightly big (about the size of a pinky), but that's not a big problem.

Review: Great adapter, especially if you use Shure headphones - the style matches and jacks click very snugly to basically form one entity - regular use won't disconnect it, even if you're running. It will disconnect if you tug on it hard, which is actually good since it prevents the jack from breaking (had that happen to one pair of headphones when they got stuck somewhere and I didn't notice until i felt my iPod jerked out of my pocket).
As mentioned, the audio quality from the mic is very good, even when worn under clothing.
The removable clip can be handy, but I never use it since I wear the headset under a shirt (so it's nice that I can take off the clip).
The jack is very compact and sturdy so no risk of it breaking.
I've been using this for over two months continuously, every day, for at least 8 to 12 hours and it's holding up perfectly, no signs of decreased sound quality or any other wear and tear.
I should also note that Shure has impeccable customer service. I've broken a pair of their headphones and they sent me a new one no questions asked. And then they sent another when I managed to break the replacement.
This adapter is holding up fine despite my heavy usage.

The only thing you have to keep in mind when getting this is the length of the cord on your headphones. This will add a meter to it. With the Shure SE-210 that's exactly right since the cable on those headphones is modular, but with some non-modular headphones you may want to think of cable management solutions. Or clipping the cable on your headphones. Or just getting one of the Shure adapter+headphones bundles.

To sum up, this adapter fully rises to the Shure standard of quality in products, user experience, and customer service.

Mediocre product

Pros: Convenient

Cons: Fragile, not durable

Review: Like the review said, the call quality isn't great (it's passable), and the added cable can be an annoyance, but these are minor when compared with the durability issues. The joint where the jack joins the wire is prone to stress, so that after two months of use it will begin to wear out and one ear of your headphones will start to intermittently quit. The only solution to this is to hold down on the jack constantly, or to replace it. I've done some research on forums and apparently this problem is extremely common. At this price, and for a company of Shure's reputation, this is inexcusable.

great solution for upgrading your iPhone headset.

Pros: adds a microphone to any existing headphones

Cons: works best with headphones with 'break away' cables

Review: this is a great solution for your iphone if you want to upgrade the headset / mic combo. the thing is, it's designed to work with shure headphones, which all have break away cables, so the microphone sits just below your chin. if you use this with headphones with longer cables, you will either have to coil the cable or deal with the microphone being at waist level, which is kind of pointless. for the ultimate upgrade, check out sensaphonics 2Xs in ear monitors, which also can be custom ordered to fit the MPA, like i have ;)
