"Pretty good, except call hand-off"
Pros: 1. Make my cell phone usable in my home
Cons: -Calls get dropped when you come from tower to femtocell.
Summary: Despite the shortcomings, it is a very useful device for people living in marginal areas. Before I have this, I could not make any phone calls longer than 5 minutes. With Airwave, I have good signal strength in most part of the house except the opposite end from the device. I am good with that.
-Limited range, barely covers a house.
-GPS receiver is not very sensitive. the unit would not work without GPS. It could use an internal clock that would keep it going during bad weather.
I am sure that the technology is still improving. I hope that one day calls can be handed off from one Airwave device to another. As long as some of my neighbors also have Airwave, I may be able to stroll in the neighborhood using my cell phone without being dropped.
