Poor reception, frequently dropped connections

Pros: Cheap, compact

Cons: Poor reception

Review: I was excited to jump into the EVDO community and decided to take the special deal from Verizon on the PC 5740. $49 was a hard deal to pass up -- until I tried the card. In areas where coverage is spotty the connections frequently drop -- like every 60 seconds. In strong signal areas (5 bars on my cell phone) the connectivity is good. Save your frustrations and start with the V620 or V650. An external antenna is critical. FYI -- I'm using the card on both Windows and Linux laptops. Works great on Linux.
