  • "Phone is fine. Poor communication of information."
    on by 5RMR

Pros Easy to set up and use. Has more features than I need for simply making and receiving calls.

Cons Lack of details about the service and charges applied by AT&T.

Summary Things you should know: I recently purchased an AT&T Gophone from Best Buy. I bought the $100 for 1,000 minutes yearly plan (equals $0.10 per minute). I discovered, after I made my first few calls, that the length of the call noted on the phone does not correspond to the charges applied by AT&T. I made 3 calls, each of which was noted on my phone as having been under 1 minute in length. However, AT&T charged me $0.20 for each call. When I spoke later to customer service (and later verified by a stop at a local AT&T store), AT&T charges from the moment you hit the "send" button, while the phone records only the length of the actual call.

Also, when trying to reach AT&T customer service via the provided 800-901-9878 number, no option was provided for talking with a live person and none of the prerecorded messages answered my questions. Only after an online search did I discover the trick - when you call the 800-number and the message begins to play, hit "0" (you may have to do this more than once) to get to a live person.

AT&T could have done a much better job of explaining the charges on their website and on the phone packaging and in the instruction manual. The phone and the service seem to be fine, but the lack of pertinent information is very distressing.

  • "Good Basic Flip Phone"
    on by boater7

    Pros *Low price.
    *Good sound quality.
    *Long battery life.
    *Lightweight/Small.

Cons *Most annoying: if you press the "OK" button from the home screen it goes to att.net. If you don't immediately exit, you'll be changed for web access.
*Camera is okay, but not good.
*Unwanted extras: YP Mobile, Mobile Web, IM, AT&T Social

Summary This is a good basic flip phone - a good choice if you are seeking an affordable phone for making calls and texting. I've been using it for 2 months and am happy with the purchase.

  • "Z221 TOUGH PHONE"
    on by narn3049

    Pros READ SUMMARY

    Cons READ SUMMAry

Summary It's just a simple flip phone, if that's what you find appealing go for it!

I think this would be of much of a benefit for senior citizens. Basic flip phone with a camera. Does have some options, and isn't too much of a dent in your wallet.
