The Bottom Line For users that want an affordable camera phone with a fair amount of high-end features such as voice dialing and a speakerphone, the CDM-8910 fits the bill. Though it's missing some connectivity features, the EV-DO-equipped Audiovox CDM-8940 packs a solid multimedia punch. With a VGA camera and lots of custom content, this phone is cooler than it looks and should appeal to users who want to avoid lengthy--and costly--service contracts. We liked this slick camera phone's design and feature set but were disappointed by its performance. The Samsung Smooth is a basic-looking, budget-friendly phone with some compelling extras--it's a good option for Verizon customers who don't want to extend their contracts just to get a reasonable price on a new handset.
