"I bought one, so I can write serious comments"
Pros: design, phonebook synchronisation with home phones
Cons: keypad needs some "getting used to"
Summary: this phone (one year on the market now) was and is a peace of art and way in advance of any other mobile phone (f.e. the soft skin on the phone): its design (you like all those candy bars ? look at the phone in its charger how nice it is...), its technology (the small form factor includes a motor to flip open when incoming call) ; my wife uses it all the time and most of all she likes the fact that the phone book synchronises 2-way with the phonebook of the inhouse wireless DECT phones (also here unique for B&O : using f.e. 4 dect phone and 2 serenes, changing/adding/deleting an entry in one device, updates in ALL other devices (this feature is NOT included in the SAMSUNG model!). For A LOT OF people which are not so techy as most of us, this is just extremely convenient !!! It seems to be trendy for people who never saw/used/bought a B&O products (whatever) to write negative comments (just like saying a Ferrari is a stupid car ...)

I love it! It's definitely the best phone I've ever bought! I'm a phone junky, 2006 alone I came from using the Nokia n70,n80, n93,n95.and the Vertu Monza yes I went though 5 phones within 1 year....and when my Vertu Monza ran out of battery at my friend Jessica Alba's party, she loaned me her Serene for a hot minute, from the moment .. the "style " -quality"-sound"and ease of use of the B&O Serene is absolutely worth it!!!!! It matches my Porsche Carrera lol..but if you're poor like everyone else in America, then sucks for you, because it's a simple yet, top of the line phone that cost $1275.00, and the case alone cost $800.00 at Louis Vuitton...

The Ferarri IS a stupid car - for the vast majority of people. It's not practical. Besides the outrageous price, the astronmical insurance rates, hideous gas mileage, the car's only assets are it's looks and speed. Speed you can't really take advantage of in most modern metropolises given the hordes of people stuck in nearly perpetual traffic jams. So all it really has is it's looks. So all that's left are looks.
Ok... So you look great while stuck in traffic, inching your way through the big city or quite silly as you've been busted by "The Man" for speeding on more rural roads.
As far as the phone is concerned... Eh. It's nice. Would I ever be caught dead with one? No. The feature set while somewhat "advanced" in some ways is utterly lacking everywhere else. A VGA camera? Puleeese! That's so 1999... On the side of the unit? Huh? Who thought that up? The iPod style menus? Does Steve Jobs know B&O stole their menu system?
So once again, we've got a phone that's ALL style and little in the way of substance. Just like the Ferarri...
