Pros sleek design, great os, friendly user-interface, and very affordable.
Its Black Berry!
Summary ibeen used ios , android and window. i love them all. and there is no exception for Bb. Its kinda fun to test out their Os.
Pros -Beautiful screen
-HUB is so awesome for organizing your messages (email/text/fb/twitter/linkedin/bbm)
-virtual keyboard is sooo amazing and intuitive
- browser is amazingly fast, as well as great html5 support with flaash built in!
Cons some apps i love aren't there... (yet!) :)
Summary BB is back with this first phone on BB10. I'm so looking forward to the future of this platform! Sorry, it's been a long time since BB has sold me a device that seriously blew me away. Great job..
Pros Basically all have been said so I will make this quick:
- UI - love flow and moving within the system
- Hub, Everything all in one only one swipe away (Peek)
- Games which are available have the best graphics I have seen to date
- Active tiles
Cons -The Apps, not an issue for me but I can see this being a problem, more than I expected.
-Battery Life, initially was not great but after some adjustments this is no longer an issue (adjustments I made were brightness of screen and turned of NFC)
Summary Overall I have been very very impressed with this phone. It is everything I thought it would be and it is becoming easier and more fluid for me to use each day. The Keyboard is excellent and intuitive among many other things.
The best way for me to describe it is to share a quick story. I went to the gym but brought my iPhone as I still had not transferred all my music over to my Blackberry yet, when using it I found my constantly swiping up and across only to get frustrated. This was after three days of use and I now realize going back to a phone with buttons is pointless and trending backwards.
Pros * Keyboard (it's spooky how good it predicts words)
* BlackBerry Hub
* Screen size and resolution
* Time shift camera works, it's not just a gimmick
* BlackBerry World is a app/movies/music ecosystem in one app
* Browser is super fast
Cons * Battery life is ok, not great
* Gestures take some getting used to, but are very nice once you do
* Still waiting on some big name apps
* Miss the power-user features of BB 7.1 (notifications, auto-off, etc.) but these will come with updates
Summary I was considering moving to an iPhone 5 from by Bold 9900 and would have if the Z10 wasn't as good as it is. I worried BlackBerry was going to mess BB10 handsets up like all of the previous launches but I'm happily surprised with how integrated everything is and how polished BB10 is. Considering it's really the v1.0 launch of a new OS, it's amazing what they accomplished.
App performance is absolutely on par or better than iOS and Android, even on apps which use the Android runtime (which on the PlayBook was sub par at best).
Pros Very smooth and beautiful UI
Blackberry hub aggregates your life!
Best soft keyboard in existance
Very cool lockscreen
Best mobile multitasking
Tons of RAM (2GB)!
Expandable storage (up to 64gb)
Cons Apps (though most of the major ones are there or coming)
Mapping solution isn't as comprehensive as Goole Maps
Delayed US launch (thought that might be the carriers' fault, it will impact consumers regardless)
Summary Having used an iPhone from 2007-2009 and 2012, WebOS from 2009-2010, and Android from 2011-2012, and now finally the Z10 in 2013, I can say that I have quite a bit of experience with mobile operating systems. I was probably one of Blackberry's biggest detractors. If you had asked me what I thought of the Z10 a year ago, I would've said that Blackberry wouldn't even make it far enough to launch the device. Well, now that I've had the device (imported it and unlocked it since carriers won't have it till March), I can tell you that it is a great phone! I'm very impressed with what BB has done. The visuals in the OS are absolutely gorgeous (TAT acquisition was definitely worth it!). The OS is super smooth (smoother than my Nexus 4. On par with iOS, with a smoother keyboard). The keyboard is top notch. Instead of rewriting all these things, just take a look at the "Pros" I've listed.
Overall, this is probably the best smartphone I have ever used. Sure, I'd love to see a few more apps, but I have no doubt that the majority of big name apps will be here shortly (Skype is confirmed, Whatsapp is confirmed, Yelp, Instagram will probably be there, etc.).
I think long term users of Android/iOS will absolutely love this phone if they keep an open mind (fanboys, keep worshipping your OS deities; this phone isn't for you) and take the time to learn all the gestures that make this OS so intuitive.
