"Pretty good for the price, so far I really like it."4.0 starson by Jethro19
Pros: Really decent phone, great camera and MP3 player, web availability and free aps, including navigator and banking.
Cons: A little small, cramped up screen for banging out texts and does not flip to landscape view. Security settings not easy to set or manipulate.
Summary: First of all, I had to write after reading all the bad reviews. And cnet needs to update their price listed for this phone. I got about mine 2 weeks ago at MetroPCS store for $69 (as of today, still listed at that price). Pretty good phone for that and considering I am new to the camera, music player, internet stuff for cell phone use. Went from basic cheapie phone to this and love all that it can do. I understand the negative reviews for $200 and $160, but who would pay that for this phone? You can get a fully loaded superphone for that!!Another thing I forgot to mention is that while there was plenty of stuff for sale from MetroPCS, apps, ringtones, images, etc, you don't have to BUY all your ringtones and stuff. I was able to grab all kinds of stuff from my computer and put it right on the phone. With a little basic editing in a free audio/video editing program I was able to create new ringtones quickly and for FREE using my favorite music and lines from my favorite movies. I also had my brother forward me his favorite ring tones as messages and I was able to save them and use them myself. I am able to put a custom picture and ringtone for each and every person in my address book ~and none of that cost anything extra.
For less than $70, you get a really good camera, an MP3 player and internet capability, not to mention very good call quality. I called my brother in Beijing, China - he sounded fine and he said I sounded fine.
You can stick a 16 Gig microSD card in for loads of pictures and music. You only have basic WAP internet, but that is good enough for a starter web phone, I can check emails, sports scores and weather and such quickly and easily. Also, MetroPCS has several good free apps including navigator and banking. I especially like the navigator, being that I have never purchased a GPS for my car and all the ones I have ever seen only annoy me. This gives turn by turn directions or full map view. Finds anything you want in your location and works as good as any other GPS I have seen. Can also check bank account balances in 2 clicks. Another cool thing is all the games available, I have Assassins Creed Brotherhood on my freaking phone!! Can't beat that and I do not see any of the glitches/problems other people have described, other than the letters being kind of small when creating texts, but with the included stylus, I can bang out texts failrly quickly. Oh, and another problem I am seeing is being able to lock the pone quickly/easily. All in all, I would recommend this phone, especially if it is to be your first touch phone and dealing with with all the apps and such. And the plan is only $40 a month for unlimited calls, texts and web usage. Will update in the future if I have problems or glitches start to arise.
