"Too expensive!"
Pros: everything the article says
Cons: add up the costs
Summary: Unless I'm mistaken, 35 cents a day is roughly $10.50 per month, add 10 cents per minute of talk time on top of that and you're paying much more than you would for a line added to a family plan and sharing the minutes. Even if your child never uses the phone, it's more expensive than my ATT plan which has a $10 per month line charge and I have lots of minutes he can share.

We lowered the daily access charge to $.32/day with no plan. Even better, we introduced a $4.99/month plan (still no contract!) that provides the service and 10 minutes of calling to start - additional minutes and texts are only $.10, much lower than other companies.
