Pros Flash light
Cons Too big, direct connect is spoty at bet, drops calls, poor voice quality
Summary I am shocked at how Sprint took a quality service from Nextel and turned it into junk over night. This phone doesn't work most of the in a Direct Connect as it sys not available. Voice call drop all the time or just h ave the incoming audio drop out. The phone resets by itself intermittently too. I've used another phone on the Nextel service for years without problem. Sprint replaced my phone with this now it doesn't work in 3/4 of the places my old phone did. The rep hasn't been able to help much and just said it is a new system
Why in the world would you launch a system with less capability than a previous one. If you can find a new cell provider.

Pros I can't think of any.
Cons Everything! Tinny speaker, can't make out what the other person is saying, drops calls all the time, clumsy menu.
Summary We had Nextel phones for years and they were wonderful! Then we got these awful Sprint phones and there is nothing good to say about them. Probably 2/3 of the time I can't get ahold of the person I'm calling, so I try and try again and waste so much time. Or, I'll get a call and if I don't respond immediately, I'll be unable to do so entirely! We all see the "Direct Connect User Unavailable" all the time; even calling each other from here within the building.
Another thing - if I miss a phone call, there's no easy way to scroll back and see who it was that called; scrolling down only reveals who called me using Direct Connect. Sure, there's a "History" thing in the menu but its very cumbersome to use and its of no use anyway if I wasn't there to actually hear the phone ring - which is not always the case.
Lately my phone has been randomly going into some sort of setup mode, where I'll be in the middle of a conversation and suddenly the display goes dark and none of the buttons work. A period of time passes - perhaps a minute - and then it comes back to life but it spends another minute re-initializing some sort of settings and so forth before it finally lets me try to resume the conversation. Maddening. This is no way to conduct business when I can't get ahold of my employees 2/3 of the time.
Oh, forget about battery life. Its awful. And when the battery indicator starts to go down, even slightly, like just one bar, its time to put it on the charger. The battery is like falling off a cliff; once it goes down a little, its a rapid fall all the way to the bottom. Our old Nextels weren't like this at all.
Please DO NOT buy this phone! Its junk!
Pros long battery life, strong signal
Cons the direct connect speaker sounds like the person you are trying to speak with is underwater
Summary We bought these to replace Nextel units, which worked great until they started taking down towers without notice. We use only direct connect and messaging and Sprint knew this when they recommended this unit. The speaker is very garbled and when we contacted tech support we were informed that they knew there were problems but nothing they can do, it is just how the unit works, or doesnt work. This is the unit offered with the best rating for what we need!? i would hate to hear the others. If you need direct connect service, this is not the unit for you. Works fine as long as you are near the person you are speaking with but why would you use it for that.

Pros Would be great if it worked when you needed it too.
Cons Rarely works. It often takes minutes to 'set up Direct Connect' ever time you push to talk. Voice quality is poor to non existent.
Summary They sent me an Airave 2.5 to boost my signal, it works but only in the immediate area in the house and between two phones in the house, there's still a long delay before it makes the connection, if the other phone your trying to talk to makes its connection as well.
It was perfect when I was with Nextel, (at least until they took down the towers here). regular cell service is near nil here too, 1 to 2 bars tops within several miles of me, and anywhere else I seem to be as well. It works fine though in the Sprint Store though.
Worse yet is that when Nextel was taken down, they didn't give any warning, I had 1500 customer contacts on Nextel Direct Connect, many of whom didn't have regular cell numbers. When they dropped Nextel, I lost hundreds of contacts since I had no other contact option other than the DC number, which now changed with Sprint.
I'm an hour from Philly, and about the same from Atlantic City, and the service sucks, I can't imagine what others have to deal with in real outskirt areas. Calling Sprint, they make made it sound like I live in some remote wasteland and should expect poor service. I can't wait to get rid of them.
Pros None. The direct connect service is the worst I have EVER experienced.
Cons If you are lucky enough to actually make a direct connect connection you will more than 1/2 the time experience broken audio. You will not be able to understand the person you are speaking with. This product has done nothing but disappoint.
Summary Don't waste your money. Sprint has a lot of work to do to make direct connect a reality and it isn't going to happen any time soon. Our Sprint Rep assured us we would get an even better product than we had with our Nextels. He obviously hasn't tried to use the product. The telenav track system doesn't seem to report properly either. They should have had a working system in place BEFORE taking away our Nextels. I am disappointed and feel like Sprint has bullied their customers into the direct connect service.
