"Great phone for the price" on by jdpau
Pros: Plenty of volume, VirginXL, Built-in Flashlight
Cons: Small 4-way Navigation Keypad
Summary: Like I said above, this is a great phone for the price. If you don't need a super-cool phone, and you don't talk alot, this phone would be the best you could get. (At the time of this writing it's currently for sale on VM's website for 19.99 and free S&H)
Pros:
-Ringtones are plenty loud (if you think they are too loud you can adjust them).
-Access to VirginXL, where you can download games, graphics, and ringtones right to your phone (accessing VirginXL costs 10 cents, even if you don't download anything).
-The built-in flashlight is a cool feature that I use a lot. It's plenty bright for around-the-house-at-night stuff.
-Rubberized grip; feels cool.
-One of the features is a stopwatch. My Dad's Samsung A950 and Mom's Motorola V325 don't have that feature, which I find cool.
Cons:
-Smaller display screen.
-Small 4-way navigation thingy.
I've had this phone for over half a year now, and it has never let me down. So long as you take care of it (no dropping it or getting it wet) it should work fine. Don't worry about other people's negative reviews; they either had a malfunctioning phone, didn't know how to use it (a lot of people think electronic devices are built like a tank; indestructible and all), or were expecting a Motorola Razr for only 19.99.
So if you want to pay-as-you-go and don't need a ultra high-tech phone (not to say this phone doesn't have any cool features), this phone is right for you.
I give it a 9 out of 10 because for the price you really can't beat it. -
"This is a great phone that suits my style!" on by Joshx420
Pros: Color screen, 2 pre-loaded games: Bejewled and Bowling, very bright backlighting, LED flashlight, support for MP3 (Superphonic) ringtones, plenty of volume, supports the VirginXL service.
Cons: The color screen only supports 4,096 colors and is on the small side, the navigation pad could be just a bit bigger, but it's fine for my fingers.
Summary: This is a nice, sturdy, BASIC phone. That means: no camera, no bluetooth, no MP3 player. etc. You people need to give these basic phones more credit. I mean, they are only PHONES! They were made to make and recieve calls, and maybe a little extra. That is exactly what you get from the K10 Royale.
Anyway, this is my 7th phone after a Kyocera V5 Slider, an Audiovox 8610, a Sony Ericsson T237, a Nokia 2600, a Siemens CF62T, and a Sumsung X497. I would have to say this is the best out of them all. I love the phones offered by Virgin Mobile. -
"All well and good, but..." on by halflinggray
Pros: Color screen, one of only two 3G phones on the service
Cons: Poor contrast, small screen
Summary: The K10 is the second 3G phone available for Virgin Mobile. When one considers the price of this in comparison to the other one, the Audiovox Flasher V7, it makes it a wonderful value if you want to download games, screensavers, and wallpapers.
The only real negatives with this have to do with the screen and when that is such a vital part of a cell phone it becomes very noticable. First when accessing any account features there is a lot of uncomfortable scrolling to get past the first pieces of information down towards the options at the bottom. Also out of the box the backlight stays on for a very short period of time. This tends to lend itself to people wanting to press extra buttons to turn it back on that will most likely take them out of the application they are on. -

"Read this review if you're tired of Virginmobile phones" on by MusicRme
Pros: DURABLE! Don't listen to that CNET review of the video. This phone is not cheap. It can be completely dissembled and put back together, easy interchangeable skins, its made of plastic, but it's a durable plastic. Better than any Virginmobile phone.
Cons: Slow Processing with texting. Harder to use for text: Not TOO hard, just a little more annoying, takes a bit to get used to. Not a user friendly common control system. Buttons are fine.
Summary: Listen up. All Virginmobile phones are a joke. They break within months. I've had maybe ten Kyocera phones from Virginmobile, and they are all cheap plastic with terrible programming that crashes non-stop. It's a kid's phone, designed for kids who need "Prepaid" because kids can't afford phones that their parents will not buy them. This phone and it's earlier predecessors are the only Virginmobile phones I've had that are any thing worthwhile. Listen further:
If you can afford a normal phone plan without worrying about contracts, then stop reading now. If money is not an issue for you, any other, 'real' phone company is much better. However, for this phone company I've found a nitch and I will explain: For someone like me, I don't have a lot of money. I can't afford plans, especially since when you get a plan, they literally have you confined within their terms of service, which are bad. First are the taxes they don't tell you about. Taxes are added on to the basic price they tell you it will cost monthly in advertisements, ALWAYS! Then there are the ways they make more money for things like internet use, which turned on in your pocket accidentally, and downloaded 5,000 bytes of internet information. When a byte is worth maybe 30 cents, or they find some way to charge you. If you can't pay your bill, they turn your phone off, and charge you money to turn it off, then money to turn it back on, and it's a nightmare. If you want to cancel your plan, guess what? That's another $300 or more, depending on what phone you purchased with your plan! I will never go back to a contracted phone company. Finally, everything about phone companies and contracts go on your credit report. (Yeah, that's right)
The Nitch: I pay monthly with Virginmobile, but I don't have a contract. I pay $40 a month for 300 any, 1000 night/weekend minutes, and 1000 txt. It's not that great, but I manage with the amount of phone calls I make. If suddenly, I can't pay that monthly phone charge, my phone will shut off from the service. Here's the nitch: I don't have to pay any BS contract fees or nothing. There are no taxes for my service, no hidden BS anywhere! If I can't pay, it turns off, and when I can pay, I can turn in on the exact same moment I desire it to be back on. Cancel my plan? Fine, just don't pay and throw your phone away. IT'S PREPAID!!! The service is exceptional. I get better service than T-Mobile living in southern California Los Angeles.
The Phone: This phone is the only good Kyocera phone, however, it is obsolete. They don't make them anymore, but you can still use em' if you find one. I just ordered two. I am not joking about the durability of Virginmobile phone, if you can't get one like this, don't get the plan. Why? The phone breaks within a month or two, and that's a monthly cost on top of your normal monthly charge. The phones are not too expensive, but why pay around $70 a month for Virginmobile service that's just not worth the kind of money? Exactly! I like this phone better than almost every new phone they come out with now. This phone is like an old Nokia brick phone, it doesn't break!! Unless you put it through the washer... then it breaks. If you drop it in the toilet, turn it off, and cover your phone in Kitty Litter, it absorbs the moister out of the phone.
One of the greatest features a phone can have: A flash light. You don't know how many times that flashlight has come in handy. Remember that one time your car broke down, or your power went out, or you dropped something somewhere when it was too dark? Does your normal cellphone light not cut it? This flashlight is the savior of the century, it is a good flashlight for it's size, and works better than the back light of a cell phone for sure.
Wrapping up the phone: It does a great job for what it does. It doesn't do spectacular things, it is not to serve your ostentatious needs! It's certainly far from showy. What happened to a 'normal' phone? This phone does it's job! It makes calls and texts, anything else is unnecessary for someone who is economical. This phone is style, let me demonstrate: This is an old universal phone. And that means, there are plenty of skins you can find online. Completely remodel the phone in a different color, or just the face plate. Or decorate it yourself, if you're really creative. I love my phone.
Finally: To summarize it up, this is a good phone, with durability, simple features that work and maintain consistency. The phone plans are mediocre, but for the squalor, it works like a dream. No hidden contract painful frenzies. Tired of the phone? Throw it away and stop your payments, it does the rest for you. Phone is hard to get, if you're a Virginmobile user, I would suggest picking it up at first glance at new, because I'm pretty sure you wont find one, but good luck and nice job if you find one! It's the only worthwhile Virginmobile phone that is reliable, I mean that with sincerity! I hope this review helped, good bye!!
