"Great phone if you can break your bad habits" on by gcraigm
Pros: Great display, handy features.
Cons: Speaker is quiet, even on full.
Summary: I don't write opinions usually. This phone is worthy of praise. I wasn't sure when I bought this phone. Now I am. It surpassed my expectations. As soon as your hands stop trying to treat it like a flip phone, the swivel makes a lot more sense. It is really more convenient once you get used to it... just a little different/awkward for the first week.
I am surprised at other reviews I have seen here saying trouble with (1) answering while closed (2) dialing by voice and (3) short battery life. I have had EXACTLY OPPOSITE exerience. Easy to use open or closed, easy to voice dial, and my battery lasts 3-4 days. (Is that short?)
Also, I never thought I would use the camera. I use it a lot with my kids. The big screen and small size when closed work really well for this.
Well, thumbs up from someone who doesn't usually bother to write about phones. -
"Good phone, lots of software flaws" on by rifisher
Pros: Very good integration with phone closed
Cons: Form-factor counterintuitive, numerous software flaws
Summary: I find the rotating form-factor very counterintuitive. I very nearly managed to use it as a flip-phone several times in the first week.
The phone also suffers from several problems.
1. When you go to contacts, and press the first letter of a name, you'll wait 3-4 seconds before the phone responds. Not good. In other screens, the phone's just slow.
2. The recently calls list shows everyone as a cell user. You call them back and it doesn't show you the number. As a result, if someone's in your recent calls list, you can't tell if you're returning the call to their cell, home, or what.
3. I haven't figured out how to use voice dialing by speaking a person's name. You can dial a specific number by voice (very cool), but I can't just say "Hell" to call home (the lack of this feature might save my life though). My 3-year old TMS-510 had it. Why not this brand spanking new Kyocera?
Overall, a lot of good ideas in a very unpolished package. -
"great phone lots of features" on by starwarsyoda9632
Pros: big screen, camera and video, and the scheduler.
Cons: the signal strength not as strong as some other phones
Summary: the phone has a lot of great things about it. the camera is awsome and the scheduler has been the most helpful thing ever. i use it to mark dates of stuff i would have had to remember. and one of the best features is the fact that you use pretty much every thing on the phone with it closed. you can make calls, view contacts, take pictures to. the scroll button on the side of the phone is more helpful than you may expect. plus the deticated camera button on the side of the screen.

"Don't let the swivel scare you!" on by astronautswife
Pros: Speakerphone, fun camera, good keypad and shortcuts
Cons: Short battery life!
Summary: This is a great phone and I am very pleased with it. To everyone that is worried that a 'swivel' phone is hard to open/close-it's not. After just a few practice runs with opening and closing with my 'right' hand-I can do it and if I can do it, so can you! Don't be deterred by other's comments regarding this.

"Swivel a hassel-Poor Sound" on
Pros: Intuative to use. Camera works with swivel closed. Big colorful display. Lots of cutesy little features.
Cons: Poor sound quality with both swivel open and closed. Don't even bother with making calls with the swivel closed. The swivel is a hassel to use because you need both hands to open it to answer a call. No quick flip of the thumb like my flip phone. To a
