Cons: Access Apps not yet available for pre-paid "U" customers
Summary: Because of my limited cell phone use, I've always found it more economical to use a pre-paid plan. My one complaint with the Virgin Mobile service I was previously using is the poor reception we get in my area on the Sprint all-digital network it used. I decided to give Alltel a try and I'm very pleased with the signal strength I get now with this tri-mode phone. I also like the FasTap keypad for text messaging and use this feature a lot to stay in contact with my son (texts are 5ยข for me, free for him on our respective plans). Having never been a fast text messager with a standard keypad, it didn't take me very long at all to become accustomed to the new layout. Once Alltel makes good on their promise to preview and download ringtones, wallpapers and games from their online site for customers with pre-paid plans, this phone will go from a 9 to a 10.

Pros: The bright display screen, good battery life, features
Cons: I'll be honest, the fast tap system isn't all that much faster, It will take time to get used to. Plus on the small sub screen on front it doesn't show picture of person calling, only on the main scn
Summary: I have had about three phones within my past two years of my Alltel contract. I started out with the Audiovox 8910. Once I found out how much of a dud that phone was, it finally broke down on me. My friend lent me one of their Motorola's from a previous contract. It was ok to get me through. However I started having problems. With that one.
I then switched to a cheap LG model phone, and that got be through the rest.
I was so happy to get a nice phone again when I resigned. This phone has been great soo far, the battery life seems pretty good. However, I am not a heavy user of it.
The fast tap system is a bit slow, but don't get discourged... enter 100 of your contacts... you'll get faster.
Overall I think the camera is pretty good, takes much better pictures. For a mid level inexpensive phone, this is great. I don't have a mind of paying several hundreds of dollars on a phone, so this suited me just perfectly.
I would recommend this phone to anyone. -

Pros: Color external display, big inner display, fastap, camera, flash, stereo speakers, fliptones
Cons: can't take videos
Summary: This phone is PERFECT. Fastap is great to use, you have to get used to it, but once you do its a lot faster than regular texting. I love the external screen. You can set backgrounds on it and take self portraits. The inner screen is really big and bright too. It comes with cool ringtones, and fliptones, which means you can set a sound to play when you open and close the phone. It can't take videos, but beside that, this phone is PERFECT.
