"You need the 'red antenna'" on by clifffender

Pros: Easy to program (for ants)

Cons: keys small, bad antenna, volume keys in bad place

Summary: 2 free ones for migrating to Cingular; keys not designed for adult human use; volume keys placed on side where an adult human will sometimes hold this phone to keep from dropping it....caused unwanted phone rings that can scare you good.

The good part is: to make the phone work you need the right ("red") antenna. If you get the phone from one of the Cingular outlets in a department store/corner of the mall, then chances are you will get one of the old "bad" antennas that LG didn't replace. Unless you are in a strong signal area, then look for mega cutoffs.

Of course the person at "Warranty Service".... he will be mailing me 2 good (also known as "red" antennas) and I should have them in a couple weeks (???). And there will be no charge!! --WOW!!! NO CHARGE!!!--- for something I should have had on the phone in the first place. An adequate antenna so I can complete my calls with no cutoffs. (LG was aware of this problem, but didn't get to replace all atennas, especially ones sent to Cingular for "free" promos.

Beware of this cute little critter phone and ask for the good/"red" antenna; but probably Scooter behind the makeshift counter in THE MALL won't know what you're talking about. And, you have to guess where your handless-plug is for the earphone/mic.

UPDATE... The "red antenna" they sent me didn't do any better. If you're in weak area, do not get this phone!!! I went back and got a better model (Motorola) which works better in my weak area.
ALSO... the volume keys (on the C1300) cause you a lot of frustration...just by handling the phone the volume for the ring is constantly lowered.... I had to readjust the ring volume many, many times...

"Even if it's free you'll lose money by accepting it" on

    Pros: Small and cute.

Cons: This phone upgrade set me back 10 years--literally. If I had to chose between this phone and my Motorola bag phone from the dark ages--the 10 lb. bag phone would be my choice. It has a terrible menu system. The keypad is made for pixie fingers. Stand in

"This phone doesn't work!" on by dmckinnon

    Pros: Cute design.

Cons: It does not allow you to do one thing- call people.

Summary: This phone was offered free witha plan. What a mistake. The first one I sent back because it would continually beep and drop calls during the call. Like five times per call. It was replaced with a different version of the same model, and now that happens only about 50% of the time. But in addition to that lovely feature, sometimes it freezes and won't do anything until the battery is taken out and replaced! DO NOT FALL FOR THE FREE OFFER, THIS PHONE WILL RUIN YOUR PHONE RELATIONSHIPS!

"This phone made me cry!" on by rixie77

    Pros: small, lightweight

    Cons: Everything Else

Summary: I hate this phone. It's the one they gave us free when we switched from ATT to Cingular.

With ATT I had a samsung x425 that while fairly basic, worked like a charm.

The LG1300 stinks. I drop almost every call. That is not an exaggeration. Often the phone will display maximum bars, but then as soon as you are on a call they all dissapear - along with your call. If you shut the flip face and re-open it all of a sudden you have bars again, at least until you make another call.

Trying to use the phone inside a building is not possible.

The phone book is set up kind of awkwardly. The alarm and other features are buried in strange menus.

But seriously, what is up with that mirror on the front? It's too small to be useful as a mirror for say, applying make-up. Why didn't they put at least a clock there?

Cingular tried to tell me that some of the phones shipped with bad SIMs. Seeing as we got 3 of these and they all stink identically I find that doubtful. They're just bad phones.

I almost cried I miss my old phone so badly. I'm trading this piece of junk in this weekend.

    "Great Phone!" on by dellscell

    Pros: Lightweight

    Cons: none as of yet

Summary: I have had no problems with this phone. I have a great signal (I live in a small town where towers are few) And the battery life is long. Very light weight. Very happy with this phone.
